  1. Both, as Luke said it is a sign of oppression and from the public's pyschological view they wouldn't seem so strange and mysterious and therefore would be more ready to accept them. The shite being spouted by some Muslim leaders doesn't help, in moving to a foreign country they are going to have to adapt, that doesn't just go for Muslims but for everyone, the same way that we and our women should respect their culture by not walking through their streets semi-naked whilst on holiday there. The problem of Muslims and integration into society isn't going to disappear any time soon and its going to need a bit of give and take from both sides but as of yet they have not appeared willing to compromise.
  2. Usually I'd agree but when a woman is covered from head to toe apart from her eyes it naturally projects a negative image of the person. British Muslims have to realise that if they are to live here peacefully they have to make some effort to integrate with British culture in the same way that the public, which to a large extent have already done, have to accept their differences.
  3. Some of these women may wear it due to religious reasons but this isn't an Islamic state and whilst I respect their choice to wear it they aren't making the effort they should be to try to break down the barriers between Islamic and the British culture. And it is the usual complete overreaction to anyone even mentioning any issue to do with Islam, fair play to Jack Straw for speaking out but the reaction from certain Muslim leaders haven't done them any favours.
  4. Plus you made the mistake of watching the ITN News, load of bollocks.
  5. And he would also be a likely victim in a 3-5-2 system.
  6. Dorty yanks. Anyone who invests in a company which openly admits it is on shaky legal ground deserves to lose their money IMO.
  7. Of course he wanted to play in the World Cup and at the end of the day we couldn't have refused to let him go if he was even only semi-fit. We should be given full compensation for his wages but his claim for the effect his injury has had on the club is a load of bollocks. Freddie has already said that we were adequately covered so I don't know why he is changing his tune now. Owen was an international footballer when we bought him so we bought him knowing there was a risk he would get injured playing for England and now that it has happened we shouldn't seem so surprised.
  8. I worryingly got 80% Also better at recognising the rug munchers than cock suckers.
  9. All he has to do is smile a bit more and you couldn't tell the difference.
  10. He can train in Tenerife all he likes but after 5 years out of the game his sharpness and footballing abilities will be gone to fuck. Saying that I fully expect us to give him a 5 year contract.
  11. From some of the seats in the leazes I wouldn't recognize Robbie Coltrane if he played for us. Aye, I can see how you could get him and Stephen Carr mixed up.
  12. I don't think our UEFA Cup run will have as much bearing on Roeder's job security as the league will. Hopefully the Fat One will have learnt his lesson from Souness. The league is our bread and butter, a European run is a bonus on the footballing and financial sides.
  13. Do they ever trace these people who are using the card?
  14. Was there ever any more word whether this Sheik was behind the takeover? As has already been said I can't see any attraction for a hedge fund interested in making large profits, they may rename the stadium and hike up ticket prices but I don't think a significant sustainable increase in profits is possible without huge investment. Surely if Freddy continues to play hardball Belgravia could agree a deal with the Halls and a number of other investors to take their holding above 50% and then free freeze the Shepherds out from the running of the club. Though I'd say the Halls will also be looking to hold out for as high a price as well.
  15. Given the curse of Roeder I now believe relegation to be inevitable.
  16. How do you work that one out then? Not really that difficult, they finished third, a point behind Man U last season, and they are going backwards while Liverpool continue to go forwards. I actually think they may run them quite close this season. Liverpool won't get near Chelsea this season, if any team is going to do it it will be Man U, the scousers don't have a hope.
  17. And lets not forget that Villa have actually won something since Shepherd took over.
  18. Good luck, try not to get killed. Love, ewerk xxx.
  19. Nah, my past couple of visits to OT haven't been the happiest.
  20. Well for some reason I'm feeling strangely optimistic about this game. and by strangely optimistic I mean a hard fought 2-1 defeat rather than out usual hammering. At the very least I hope the lads are well up for this and a couple of good individual performances from Martins and Duff.
  21. I saw it last night for the first time. I knew from the reviews it was going to be terrible but being a Kevin Smith film I held out some hope for it only to be sadly disappointed.
  22. How do you work that one out then?
