So nobody in Manchester supports Man U yet all the shops are shut there on matchdays cos theyre all at the game? [/fuckinglost] This whole "no-one in Manchester supports United" is just a myth - the place is crawling with the vermin. I would agree that United have a hell of a lot more OOT support than City do though.

. Don't think The Sun does. Even the evertonains don't buy that shit. Wasn't referring to any specific media outlet, but the general message the media portrays of LFC is that they have the most incredible fanbase in the world. I know that The Sun published some disgraceful stories about Hillsborough though. I would be disgusted even if it was Man United fans they wrote that about.

League is reknowned for having a huge working-class following. Union is the toff's Sport, and is more popular in the Midlands and down South.

1. Man United - Scum. The team I was brought up to hate. A vile bunch. Full of plastic fans, and their local support I have found to be nothing short of "Shameless-like". 2. Chelsea - No soul whatsoever. Plus their fans links with the National Front make me kinda destest them. Not to mention players like Terry, Drogba and Ballack who are complete cunts. 3. Man City - Used to be a likeable underdog but now this future designer label represented by mercenaries sum up all that is wrong with modern football. 4. Liverpool - The way the media wank over them and their "amazing fans", despite the stories I have read about red scousers causing trouble over the years. 5. Birmingham - Nasty bunch, forever in Villa's shadow and should get back to whichever tinpot league they belong in. 6. West Ham - Devoted fanbase but some experiences I've had with their fans in the past has made me think of them as a bit classless. 7. Spurs - Not a popular choice but I've never had a problem with them, plus more power to them for breaking the Sky 4. Again, fans who love their team. 8. Arsenal - The most attractive team to watch in the EPL. Their players are almost artist-like. Plus a girl I like is a gooner. 9. Villa - A good team with a good manager and a strong squad. Sleeping giants. 10. Fulham - Really likeable club, I think the whole country (except Chelsea and QPR fans of course) backed them in the UEFA final. 11. Everton - Great fans, always shake up the big boys and have a load of potential to do well. Always nice to see them win a big match.

Some pretty brash comments on here tbh. Who can say who is officially a bigger club out of Leeds and Newcastle? Neither team has won a trophy in ages (your last one being...1955 was it? Our was nearly 20 years ago as it were) but both are reknowned for their huge support. Kinda why I have a soft spot for Newcastle, similar kinda clubs really and there was a certain point when we were both in the PL and we'd be the only two teams who genuinely gave the Sky 4 a run for their money, way before teams like Citeh and Spurs started flashing the cash. I don't buy into this "Leeds is a Rugby city" either. True, the Rhinos have been on fire the past few years whereas the mighty whites...well, the less said the better! But when I go to any other city and mention that I'm from Leeds, usually at some point the subject of Leeds United comes up yet the only places outside of Leeds where I can remember having Rhinos mentioned to me was when I've been to the outlying towns and cities in West Yorkshire such as Bradford, Huddersfield, etc. Plus the obvious fact that from what I've seen there's been more football fans than rugby fans in Leeds.

Yep. Mancs/Bradfordians. Mackems I don't particularly mind. They're very like mackems I find people from West Yorkshire. That one where the mother told the brother to kidnap the daughter beside Leeds, to me that had Wearside stamped all over it. You mean Sharon Matthews? Ah, good ol' Dewsbury. Thank fuck that place doesn't have an LS postcode. A few dodgy parts in West Yorkshire but Leeds is actually quite "posh" as far as Yorkshire goes. Yep. Mancs/Bradfordians. Mackems I don't particularly mind. got to agree with you about mancs. bit of a sweeping generalisation like but whenever i've been to manchester, they've always done their best to live up to the swaggering, stupid haircut, liam gallagher sterotype. i went to see the arctic monkeys at the old trafford cricket ground a few summers back and i must have seen at least 6 or 7 fights kick off during the day, all by gallagher clones. there was a violent atmosphere in the air all day, like it could kick off at any time, people pissing anywhere and chucking bottles of piss (with no tops on) towards the stage and where we were in the pit. pure savagery. i knew a few mancs at uni that were good lads but they all seemed to seek each other out and live in large houses made up only of mancs, it was weird. so houses of 5-6 mancs that didn't know each other before they met at uni. i met plenty of sound geordies when i was at uni but i didn't make an extra effort to live in a big shared house with them. weird behaviour. I actually quite like Manchester as a city, I'm a fan of quite a few Manchester bands and it makes a good day out with some decent places to visit and generally the place has character. But I just can't stand either football team or their arrogant fans, and the general Manc attitude of "we're from t'fookin best citeh in t'world, ya narratamin arkid!" is pretty lame. Also the fact they have the nerve to take the piss out of people from Liverpool calling them all criminals when Manchester statistically has a higher crime rate.
