  1. Im not into cars.

When I worked for a massive house builder in London I got a company car. Brand new, like 0 miles, Mazda 6 just after they released.

I left because fuck London. Moved to Manchester, bought a cheap Kia and ran it into the ground.

Couple of years ago, cos I was up and down to boro more to help with my brother and doing loads of motorway miles. I bought an Audi Q5 S-Line (old shape). Took my time, researched the dealer, the car and it had a full Audi service history.

Brought it home, week after it need a new gearbox. Which being automatic cost me £3k. Cars are fucking scam, insurance went up by 35% this year with no changes.

  2. For what it’s worth, never heard it growing up in Boro. But my brother used to be a fitter at a factory near newton aycliffe, and he picked it up working there.

Well after the CDM changes in Oct last year you already have local authorities like York saying they're no longer going to do site private site visits because they don't have the resources.

Assume you mean the building safety act, cos the CDM regs haven’t changed since 2015.

I know a lad who joined them as a new building safety inspector. Left within 3 months, lives in leeds expected to inspect sites in Brighton. Shit show

My local MP is a Tory.  They do a lot for the local area.  Whenever I have had issues I have gone to them and they've been very helpful.  I am a member of a local group of FB.  Someone posted in it the other day how we need to keep voting for them due to this and ignore what's going on in Parliament and if it was Labour in charge it would be worse.  Fucking laughable.  The group was set up by the Tory MP and he is admin in it.  He did delete the post and said that the group isnt for that.  Which I do applaud him for (through gritted teeth).

There's a road near me that's having a development built off.  The developers having been appalling at keeping the road clean through the winter months.  I personally have contacted the developers, groundworkers and council about it and got close to fuck all back.  The road is fucked, its covered in shite and dangerous.  It needs sweeping regular, wheel wash and banksman on the road (its close to a blind bend yet has tippers exiting).  This was ignored.  Got in touch with the MP and he has been trying for months to get this sorted.  He does love lambasting the council on this though as they're a Labour run council.  Last week a cyclist was coming down the road, slipped on mud and has fractured his hip, skull and broken ribs.  He's still in hospital with a small bleed on the brain, I understand this is improving.  I hope he sues the fuck out of the developer and the groundworker the utter cunts.

Contact the HSE and mention the CDM regulations and breaches.

Then sit back as nowt happens because they are another underfunded, understaff arm of the current government.

What sort of holiday you after, mate? Also what time of year?

I’ve only been to Rhodes, and had a few days in lindos too. Something similar but a different island maybe?

Beyond pathetic honestly. May Ten Hag stay another season at that club and may their decline long continue. As bearable as Klopp and Arteta are nothing gives me more joy than seeing "United" get their arsed handed to them week in week out.

    Unbearable surely?

  7. I think Hall was/will be signed with a view to the future (mind blowing I know).

I think him and Livramento are with a view to a different system in mind than we have currently. Mainly due to Schar’s lack of pace.

Long term I expect hall and tino to be attacking fullbacks, again mind blowing.

With Sven, a faster player alongside him, Bruno/a n other sitting deep, it allows us to have three at the back centrally rather than from a wide position.

Gives us more threat from wide (deep) and the wingers can get more central and hopefully score more goals allowing isak to drop deeper where he is immense.

But I am just an overweight 39 year smoggy, I don’t know shit.

  8. Haven’t we all got a message from an unknown number and sent back a picture of our withered member?

    Standard behaviour isn’t it?

@strawb will no doubt put me right of I’m talking shite (wouldn’t be the first time for either) but I didn’t think Dubravka did particularly well for any of the goals v West Ham. Not saying it’s all on him by any means as we’re still way to open

Football is a confidence game, if you are confident you play better. Goalkeeper more so than any position, it seems to me that Dubravka has lost his confidence a bit. Either through not playing or the injuries he had prior to Pope coming in.

He could have done better on both goals but I don’t think either were a howler.

Had a CTesque moment of inspiration yesterday.

Making a lamb pastitsada to serve today.

Usually use cinnamon, cloves, red wine, but only had red wine, which I wanted to neck as opposed to cook with.

Rummage through the cupboard turned up a bottle of ready made mulled wine that some bugger brought round at Christmas- red wine, cinnamon, cloves.

Hoyed it in, upped the garlic count from a whole clove to a clove and a half, missed out the sugar.

    Turned out absolutely fantastic

A whole clove and a half of garlic? Calm down Keith Floyd, you might get some flavour in it soon.

Booked up a little villa in Cyprus for eleven nights in may. It'll be the first time it's just been me and the missus on holiday since 2001...... What do you normally do, again?

Usually run out of things to say to each other after 3 days, warn her she is going to burn, end up having a row.

I can’t remember where I saw it, but I definitely recall reading an article about the treacherous state of bridges in the US.

It essentially said “ soon, one or more of them will collapse”.
It may been around the time that bridge in Italy had a lie down.

I used to do a lot of contract work for a firm whose business was the installation, and subsequent monitoring, of movement meters on road and rail bridges and other structures.
One job we had in Dewsbury, they brought over a team of rope lads from a partner business they had in the US, to work with us and see how things were done here.
It was a small, single span rail bridge over a canal

These lads were amazed that something so small and insignificant was

1- Metered in the first place

    2- Those meters were maintained.
Said that would rarely happen back home.

It was a railway bridge, with regular passenger trains going over it ffs

It goes further than large structures like bridges mate. If any of your family live in social housing, get shit boiler checked. The landlord should do it but fuck me what I saw in london would make a hooker blush
