  1. Absolutely tragic news to wake up to this morning. I don't post much these days but years ago I used to chat with Jon on MSN talking nonsense for hours on end back in the day. I don't really know what to type, been thinking about this all day and struggling to fully get my head around it.

Thanks to Cath for organising and contacting family, I'll be donating.

Thoughts are very much with family and friends.

  2. He struggled on the right in the first half but I thought he showed promise in the second half playing more as a holding midfielder. He's been out for an awfully long time, hopefully he will be okay now as he is clearly a better option than Alan Smith in the event of injury or suspension to Tiote or Cabaye.

  3. I went with WubbleUC, class trip. Watch out for the Russians though.

My Dad said it was good culture wise etc but I unfortunately missed most of that side of things as I was in bed with a hangover both mornings.

  4. Don't be daft man Wacky.

    Byker Bridge is working class.

Millennium Bridge , after a juice in the Pitcher and Piano.

You should be okay jumping off the Millennium bridge as long as you can swim, a mate of mine did it a few years ago.

  5. when you're in your teens & 20's it's wedding

    when you're in your 30's it's christening's

    in your 50's & 60's it's funerals

a couple of years back I had 5 in one year - had to buy another black overcoat......................

Well I'm mid 20's and been to too many funerals to list and not a single wedding.

  6. Wonder if Sports direct will move into the club stores he's closed down in Eldon Square and the metrocentre.

I assumed he was just saving on rent but you might be right there.

I doubt it, neither of the units are really big enough for a Sports Direct and in both cases there is already one within 200 yards. Don't think the Metro Centre club shop is actually closing.

I know the rental rates in Monument Mall are very high, hence half the place is empty and Boots moved over the road a few years ago so I'm not surprised the club are not renewing the lease.

So I was right the first time?

Aye, was supposed to quote HF not you.

  8. God, the Wheatsheaf is fucking shite. Used to be decent as well. I'll tell you where's really nice Stevie - The Smithy Bistro. It's housed in an old Blacksmith's next to The Diamond at Ponteland. Seen a few footballers in there but don't let that put you off  Only been in for Sunday dinner but if that's anything to go by it should be great. http://www.smithybistro.co.uk/contact-us.html

    Closed down, becoming a Chinese.

FS any suggestions then Greg? Is there anything over Prestwick or Dinnington way?

    For lunch?

  9. I accept he will improve the team but it comes down to pride in my opinion.

I don't think Newcastle should be helping to develop Man U players. I would rather not have him and suffer the consequences.

As I said in another thread it just shows how Ashley has effectively lowered expectations to such an extent that we are happy to develop young players for more ambitious clubs in the knowledge that if they turn out to be any good we won't hang onto them for very long.

No different to when we signed Giuseppe Rossi under the previous board.

  10. Mackems away on August 31st.

    Champion.

Daft we don't get a return tie at St James like. Odd new system.

Aye it is a strange system.

It has been split into groups and they are in a different group to us, you play each team in your group home and away and also play each side in the other groups once.

Then a play off then a final.

  11. Do people still use their land line?

If I didn't need one to have broadband where I am then I wouldn't have one, don't even know my own number.

Think I've used it twice to ring 0800 numbers.
