  1. Not played this in ages but will get back into it soon.

Got a canny game going where I won everything with the toon including back to back Premier League titles and also won the CL.

I then left and took over at Dortmund, won the league first season but it was too easy so I resigned and I am now the manager of Gateshead.

  2. OK, not trying to hijack this thread but I might be heading off to Texas in the next couple of weeks for the sake of international romantic reasons, I have a traditional passport, the non-biometric type, do I need a Visa ??? I have hastily booked a session at the passport office to get mine upgraded at daft expense, it seems its too late to get a Visa at this notice but would I need one with the old style passport ??? I could really do without shelling out £130 for a new passport if I don't need one.

They will give you entry for 90 days at immigration control at the airport, obviously you can't work etc.

  3. The teenage daughter of former Manchester City star Antoine Sibierski has been found dead in her apartment.

The body of Sibylle Sibierski, 18, was discovered by police when they forced their way into the property in Altrincham.

Police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances.

Tributes to Sibylle - a nightclub promoter and former pupil of St Bede's School in Manchester and Cheadle and Marple Sixth Form College – were flooding in to the social networking site Facebook today.

Shocked friends set up a special tribute site which gathered 100 members within half an hour.

Pal Rachel Kirkham wrote: "I can't believe you are gone...I don't know what to say or do. Not a day will go by where I won't think about you Sibylle."

Miss Sibierski had returned to the luxury apartment in Altrincham, after a night out on Sunday.

A relative, concerned about her welfare, then phoned police on Monday afternoon.

They arrived at the apartment but there was no response to their calls.

When police went to the apartment there was still no response and officers broke through the door to find Miss Sibierski's body inside.

Mr Sibierski - who played 92 games for Manchester City and 33 for Wigan Athletic during a glittering Premiership career - was too upset to talk when contacted by the M.E.N at his Cheshire home.

The striker, 35, retired after being released by Wigan at the end of last season.

His daughter had been promoting club nights at Manchester venues including Lounge 31 in Shudehill.

She described herself on Facebook as; "Cute, lovely, nice, naughty, cheeky, love my friends, love my family and in love with an amazing guy."

In the early hours of Saturday she told friends on the social networking site: "Had a very good evening, Heart & Soul was good and I love A very, very much  xx."

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said police were called to an apartment in Altrincham at 5.40pm on Monday "following reports of concerns over the welfare of a woman."

The spokesman added: "Officers attended, forced entry and the body of an 18-year-old woman was discovered. The case has been passed to the coroner.""

    Very sad. RIP.

No word of a lie, she used to be my next door neighbour when she lived in the Hilton Tower in Manchester. Had to be evicted in the end because of the shit that went on in her apartment. Fucking crazy stuff. Had it out with her a couple of times but she was never in her right mind. Sad news. RIP.

Aye I remember you telling me that after Man City away last season.

    Very sad indeed. RIP.

  4. Off work a bit at the mo with all this snow compacted on estates so keeping the other half happy with a bit of cooking which I am really starting to enjoy. Never really cooked much before.

Anyway Wednesday I made Roasted vegetable Lasagne. Tasted delicious using Ragu white sauce and various vegetables.

Thursday i went with Chicken Chasseur for seven people served with charlotte potatoes and savoy cabbage. Altogether cost a tenner and was the easiest thing I think I've ever made. Chuch it all in a roasting dish / casserole dish and 90 minutes later a delicious meal. (Use colmans chasseur mix).

And which part of using a chasseur mix and Ragu sauce constitutes cooking, haway man put a bit of effort in it for the little lady!

I suppose you want me to make the pasta sheets and forage fresh mushrooms as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Making pasta is a piece of piss.

  5. I'm cooking goose today (for me Mrs P and P Jnr) with all the trimmings. nb use goose fat to moisten the roast potatoes with for th final 20 min.

Mrs P's parents for another Xmas dinner tomorrow.

Coating your roasties in Semolina gives them a lovely slightly sweet crunchy-ness to them.

Bollocks, that reminds me - I forgot to buy semolina last night. Supermarkets are chaos today according to the rock radio. Reports of people being stuck in carparks cos they are so busy. Same for retail parks too, so you're fucked if you haven't finished your shopping yet.

Fucking idiots don't realise the shops are only closed for one day.

I was cursing all the idiots myself yesterday. Until I realised, I was one of them.

No problem if you're just doing your normal Christmas food shopping but some people buy 3 trolleys worth of food as if the shops will be shut for two weeks!

  7. Which Uni?

I can only talk of the Uni of Manchester but last year Student Finance Direct fucked me over and hence I could not register for Uni as I didn't happen to have a spare £1.5K in the bank and what they got me to do was to set up a Direct Debit for January for the full £1500 which then allowed me to register on their computer system and give me the time to sort things with Student Finance Direct, once things were sorted with SFD the Uni cancelled the DD and all was fine.

Thanks man - the boy is going to Manchester so that has lowered my stress levels considerably.

What are you studying there, and do you have any knowledge of Bowden Court - thats where the young fellow is heading

I'm going into my 4th year studying Town & Country Planning.

Never been in Bowden Court but know people who have lived there, it's in a good location right next to the Aquatics centre and Oxford Road and all the uni buildings although he will probably spend his entire first year getting pissed in Fallowfield.

  9. Jesmond Dene House was top class as expected, service was brilliant and the food and drink was also excellent.

not having a go at you, but it makes me laugh when people say the service was "brilliant". This usually means that the waitress smiled, exchanged pleasantries and brought the food without spilling it.

Little things like coming out to meet me at my car and escorting us into the building under an umbrella in the pissing rain, things like that was what made the service here very good.
