  1. Hard luck that mate but like others have said time will do its magic. Your 22 and I know this is gonna sound bad but it is probably a good thing that it has happened now rather than later, I mean like most people want to start settling down after they hit 24/25, so chin up, move on and dont look back.

  2. Anyone ever done it before? Our lass could do with a new car before her banger needs an MOT in Feb.

Her mother has just got a Citroen C1 on hire purchase for £120pm with the option to buy it or give it back after 3 years. After looking around I see most companies do similar deals, Ford Ka and Renault Twingo for example.

Anything I should be wary of?

    The small print

  3. Chris Hughton has insisted he feels no bitterness towards Newcastle and is looking forward to continuing his career in management.

Hughton's departure from St James' Park earlier this month came as a major surprise considering he had guided the club to promotion from the Championship and Newcastle were enjoying a solid return to the Premier League.

Little explanation was given for his dismissal, with Newcastle stating only that they wanted a boss with more experience to take them forward and later appointing Alan Pardew as his successor.

Speaking publicly for the first time since his sacking, Hughton delivered a dignified response but described the shock he felt at being told the news.

He also revealed that he was in the company of goalkeeping coach Paul Barron when he was informed of Newcastle's decision.

"I got a phone call in the morning from the managing director Derek Llambias for myself and Paul Barron to meet him at the stadium after training and I was told the news then," Hughton told Sky Sports News.

"It was a complete surprise and there were lots of emotions.

"It is not a nice thing to happen to anybody, but particularly at a time when it wasn't expected.

"But that is part of the game and the reasons why they terminated the contract are their reasons.

"I have been asked on numerous occasions for my own opinion why and the reality is I can't say too much.

"It was a very quick conversation that the club wanted to go in a different direction."

    Looking forward

Hughton remains proud of his stint with the Magpies, which began when he was brought in as first-team coach in February 2008.

He wants to keep hold of the happy memories rather than feel resentment over the manner of his exit, and now hopes to move on and take a job elsewhere.

"I don't think you can afford to be bitter. It's a wonderful club and I had a fantastic time there over three years," he said.

"These decisions are made, whether they are right or wrong, and they are made above your head and there is nothing you can do about it.

"There is no point in dwelling on it too long. What you need to do is look forward.

"I've had a career in the game and it is a career I want to continue."

  4. Jose Enrique says Newcastle United must appoint a 'big name' to replace Chris Hughton as manager to avoid the club becoming a 'joke'.

Hughton was sacked by Newcastle on Monday despite leading the team back into the Premier League and to a respectable 12th position after 16 games.

His departure stunned the squad and Enrique has revealed all the players wanted Hughton to stay in charge at St James' Park.

Peter Beardsley has been placed in caretaker charge ahead of Saturday's game against Liverpool, but reports suggest owner Mike Ashley wants to install Hughton's successor before the weekend.

Alan Pardew is currently the favourite to take over and Spanish full-back Enrique is adamant Newcastle must bring in a proven replacement for Hughton.

    Big surprise

"The fans are not happy, the players are not happy," Enrique told the Daily Mail.

"It was a big surprise and we haven't been told a thing about why he left or who might come in.

"We were all happy with Chris. He's a great person, he works really hard and we all wanted him to stay. He'll get a chance with a big club soon because he is a great manager.

"If they are going to fire someone as good as Chris, they have to then bring in a big name, someone who has won trophies. And that doesn't even mean he will necessarily be better.

"If they just bring in someone similar, it's a joke."

Enrique added: "We don't have a team that belongs in the top six. It's not like we're low down in the table. Things are like this at this club. Strange things happen."
