Nope, started 24 hours ago. went to a mates house who has a tiny garden and has allsorts growing from peepers to corn on the cob to strawberries etc and was pretty much hooked straight away. He lent me a great book to read called "the vegetable and herb expert" which retails on ebay for about £4.00. It is excellent and lists every vegetable on a page and details when to sow, when to reap and lots of other good stuff. Not really sure what im going to grow, however i will be tied by what can be sown at this time of year. Hoping that its going to look something like this, very soon. They do reckon theres a lot of trial and error involved.

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and the like have a lot to answer for! After watching loads of river cottage I've finally decided to have a go at growing some "stuff". (I am sure most on here are into gaming etc but there may be one or two green fingered types). First, take one half of a perfectly ok garden and rip the fucker to shreds. Then keep on ripping it up (before the wife gets home). Then get a load of wood delivered, get out the saw, drill and screwdriver and make the first raised bed. Footnote: Yes the path does need weeding No my daughter was not been made to pose whilst desperate for the netty.

And he came, he saw, he spat his dummy. Pud, ive raised this before, but if Man u and Liverpool are letting people join their trusts for free, why are NUSC still charging. Confused!

Agree with most of this but AT LEAST he has replied to your email, not once but twice. Regardless of the content, well done to him for that. Would you even get a reply of a local hack.

Wishgil thinking maybe, but as this is from the local reporter with some contacts in various camps, I do think there might be something in this. Tomorrow is the last day for bids to come in, which makes it sound as though there are several interested parties. If a bid is made and accepted, there is no reason why Shearer can't be appointed, subject to etc. Finally I for one am thankful for all the speculation and tittle tattle as for me, it passes what is otherwise a most hated period of time, close season. I hate putting the radio on and hearing about fucking cricket, ten is or rugby. I also hate the way all the presenters gush about these sports in the hope of concerting one sport men like myself into cricket tossers!

I know not all are a fan of the local press, but every now and then they may just have the inside track. There are a few choice words in here that make it sound like our nightmare could be coming to an end, as soon as the next few days. Source Journal

Boy Hit By Meteorite Travelling At 30,000mph!!!
Christmas Tree replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in General Chat
Ouch -
A teenager was hit by a meteorite travelling at 30,000mph - and lived to tell the tale. Gerrit Blank was on his way to school when he saw a massive fireball heading straight towards him from the sky. The white-hot meteorite bounced off the schoolboy's hand and hit the ground so hard it left a foot-long crater in the tarmac - as well as a three-inch scar on his hand. Gerrit, 14, said: "At first I just saw a large ball of light and then I suddenly felt a pain in my hand. "Then, a split second after that, there was an enormous bang like a crash of thunder." "The noise that came after the flash of light was so loud that my ears were ringing for hours afterwards. "When it hit me it knocked me flying and then was still going fast enough to bury itself in the road." Scientists are now studying the pea-sized meteorite, which crashed to Earth in Essen in Germany. Chemical tests on the rock have now proved it is from outer space. Ansgar Korte, director of Germany's Walter Hohmann Observatory, said: "It's a real meteorite, therefore it is very valuable to collectors and scientists." Chances of being struck by a meteorite are around one in 100 million. Mr Korte said: "Most meteorites don't actually make it to ground level because they evaporate in the atmosphere. "Of those that do get through, about six out of every seven of them land in water." There is only one other known case of a human being surviving a direct hit from a meteor. A grapefruit-sized meteor crashed through the roof of a house in Alabama, in the USA, in 1954. After smashing through the top of the building, it bounced off furniture and then hit a woman who was asleep at the time.
