  2. Chris Hughton put the record straight last night on Sky Sports. The £20m pledged by Mike Ashley will NOT go on transfers. Hughton seemed a little perplexed when asked about the £20m Ashley said he was "putting into the club". The new Toon boss explained the money would go into "the day to day maintenance of the club, not on transfers". Asked if he would be delving into the transfer market in January he replied: "We will sit down and talk about it.   3. Former Newcastle striker Mark Viduka is weighing up offers from two Premier League clubs, according to his agent. Viduka is looking for a new club following the expiration of his contract at St James' Park last week. The Australian international is believed to be keen to stay in England in preparation for next summer's World Cup finals in South Africa.
