Didn't he just keep them up one season, then resigned via either The Sun or The Mirror, before telling the club, when they were on their way down the following season? That's how I remember it anyway. Legend!

 

As I recall he was hired after they had already been relegated to the 2nd. division. I suppose they thought he was the man to get them back into the 1st. Shortly after he laft they slid down into the 3rd. division. Not sure how long he was there but his tenure was a disaster, much to our joy.
