PC Ian Finnigan, 43, went back to headquarters on Canning Place It is believed he wanted to gain access to the canteen area but could not get in and caused criminal damage to a door. The officer, who is based at Walton Lane Police Station was seen by security and arrested by police. He received a fixed penalty notice for criminal damage and is now on “restricted duties”. A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: “A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage on August 12.
