Embed Google Spreadsheet

Recommended Posts

Anyone know how to embed a spreadsheet into a phpbb forum? or how to enable the bbcode in that forum to do so? I've seen use of [gs] [/gs] and [spreadsheet] [/spreadsheet] using the sheets identifier but does seem to work (on a couple of forums Im trying it on).

Cheers

the forum has to allow it with media code to render it

basically all bb code does (for example our twitter one) is when it sees say a url wrapped in the bbcode tag, or it matches the url via a regex it wraps it in html/javascript to embed it in the page,

eg the youtube links get wrapped in the javascript to render it in flashplayer and whatnot

did i not write one for google docs on here ages ago?

yeah thought i did

something like this to match the url

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key={1}(&|&)hl={2}(&|&)output=html

for the action

<iframe src="http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=$1&hl=$2&output=html&widget=true" width="700" height="500" frameborder="0"></iframe>

pretty sure i disabled it or something for a reason though

you'd need at least 2-4 though to cover you for all the document types

naw iframe is just an "inline frame" it's some html

if they haven't enabled it on the board it won't work it won't allow it to be parsed, it's to stop people inserting html/java into posts which obviously would then be ran on anyone who viewed the thread,

(unless they allow you to post html in which case you could fudge it in yourself but i doubt they do)
