Notified this morning that I've tested positive for Covid 19 despite only having the symptoms of a common cold No dry cough No high temp Did have loss of taste/smell...this is complicated though, due to my chronic athsma & allergy issues my sinuses block at the drop of a hat and there was no real reason why it wasn't due to these issues as its happened dozens of times since the pandemic started. Got a txt Tuesday from a mate I'd seen on Sun 13th to say that he'd tested positive. So my 10 days are up tomorrow...pity about the half dozen or so NHS sites I visited since infection though. This morning I've filled out all the addresses in test & trace and emailed my boss too.3 points

Bruce: "ok lads, I've got you all a copy of Zulu to watch on Christmas day, it'll be a great inspiration for us trying to keep the buggers out of our box, the morra. Happy Christmas!"2 points

Hope you’re doing solid, PL. Haven’t been arsed about it changing Christmas until today which would have been the festive drinking day with a late kick off. What a shitter2 points

has this repulsive, fat, morally bankrupt, cunt of a human being ever mentioned our training facilities/academy even once since he replaced benitez? the spaniard placed greatest emphasis on trying to get ashley to realise the importance of and invest in the above, whilst life long newcastle supporter brucey is more concerned with telling us we're a club that should expect to finish in the bottom half of the league. meanwhile, leicester, a club fucking light years ahead of us in planning and ambition do this... https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/seagrave-new-training-ground-leicester-48221292 points

I'm hanging out me arse here, mind. Very tempted to actually and seriously ditch the drink till I can go out for a pint with mates. (Don't drink spirits anymore for a reason but I got a present and thought 'oh, go on then'. Silly boy!)2 points

Jeez, my mam got me a class pair of headphones purely of her own accord. (sennheiser wireless over ear things) I’m listening to records I’ve been playing over 20 years and hearing new things. The future isn’t all bleak, although I regret the £20 headphone budget I’ve set myself for the past decade....2 points

Are we just having one continuous match thread now? I hope so because they don’t deserve one each.1 point

Been off my tits since the 23rd. Was going to have a night off but it's Saturday isn't it!1 point

Tonight's game is exactly the sort of game we will fluke a 1-0 win in. Bruce will be a smarmy twat post match and Savage, Sutton et al will beak their necks to get on Twitter and wind the fans up. It will reduce the pressure on Bruce for another few weeks when we inevitably lose the next 3 on the bounce1 point

Turns being half-cut / stoned on the metro after a night out down the coast with Tooj into a cinematic experience. Well, almost. Fuck, I miss doing that.1 point

What can’t this man do? Going off his twitter it seems he does just about everything, and is massively successful at it. #Liar #Bellend #deluded1 point

I hope there's not a picture of a Liverpool keeper getting his bottle(s) after seeing the reaction that Messi never voted for any of their players in the balloon door thingy.1 point

Merry Christmas everyone! Gonna echo sentiments about the importance of this community - it's genuinely helped me at times to know that I can come on here and argue relentlessly with people about total trivialities despite the fact that we're all basically on the same side of everything And I am grateful for your tolerance of my enthusiasm for that. Stay safe and best wishes over the Christmas period.1 point

Holy shit. I’m so sorry for your loss TP. Absolutely devastating news and I can’t imagine what you must be going through. Every parents’ worst nightmare. It’s funny how we have dreams about what our children might do with their lives but ultimately all that matters is they’re happy and they outlive us.1 point

As I sit here having a shite I think it's time to reflect on my toontastic acquaintances and to wish the poor beggars a happy Christmas. So, err.... Merry Christmas! God bless us, everyone. 🎅1 point

Thank you for your comments/thoughts guys. It was actually quite cathartic to write. We have counselling available (and are taking advantage) through my work healthcare (work have been tremendous - even my yank bosses!!) I really just want to emphasise the message, there was no discernable reason for this (notwithstanding my lockdown belief) and Dan was the most positive, laughter inducing person I ever knew and he exhibited zero sign anything was wrong to anyone, no-one has any recollection of anything being strange, or off, at any time. (I know none of you knew him, but you have to trust me on this - he was such a lover of life, never phased by adversity or ever visibly down he was an utter joy to be around), We have now found out one of Dan's best mates (since they were 4 yr old) was in a really bad place 2 years or so ago, and it was solely Dan who worked on him and talked him down FFS, " he saved my life" as he puts it and he's now yet another person destroyed by this. It's extremely scary in it's simplicity - if this was in Dan it is in everyone so never assume anyone, even yourself, is OK, assume they are not, and work from there and look out for everyone. Thanks again guys P.S. Since Dan did this, over 750 other families have started upon, and are enduring, the same journey we are now on, and that will be rising at around 18+ a day, every single fucking day, many, like us, will be totally oblivious to anything being wrong. Not all, by any stretch, who do this is are pissed up druggies or financially destroyed, marriage ended people with a host of problems that can make you think "I can sort of understand it". There is no understanding it. P.P.S Woman who works with my sister in law rang work last week, in bits, and saying she couldn't come in because one of her son's best friends had done this 3 days earlier, was found by another mate and she'd just found out the mate who found him had then done same the night before. It's close and it's everywhere.1 point

I think Joelinton has the potential to be decent, but he’s very very raw and lacks in some hard to train areas imo. I think a good coach could really bring him along (could say same about most though), as Nagelsmann getting decent production out of him at Hoffenheim shows to a degree. Bruce is a complete waste of space so he’s never going to develop Joelinton or as Alex says actually identify a role which maximizes his upsides, saying that though I can’t see us really having a coach good enough to properly improve him so it looks like he will just be shite here really. The bloke is clearly a good athlete, and with proper training on how to position himself and take contact he could be hard to push around. He’s shown some flashes on the ball, but they’re way too few and far between to be worth the errors he commits. The bloke tries, which I give him credit for especially in a team with the likes of lazy arses like Shelvey, but his ability on the ball is really lacking. Shame but as I say I can’t see us ever seeing much use from him, Bruce clearly can’t get much from him and then whenever it is Pulis or some other loser replaces Bruce they’ll get no use out of him neither.1 point

I'm sorry to hear that. Hope he eventually comes back on here at some point, he's a canny lad.1 point
