    I'd go back to a Longstaff, Joelinton, Bruno midfield. It worked well last season , and after the last 3 games we need to get back to basics. Id also be tempted to give Wilson a start at CF, and 2 from Gordon/Barnes/Isak as RW and LW. Burn back in at LB.

    I don't think you're giving enough weight to how convincing the owners can be, and how confident/arrogant managers can be. Potter didn't take that job knowing he'd fail, he took that job because he would have been assured he'd be supported, given time, given control etc. And he would have believed that he could right the ship, get them playing good football, win the fans etc.

    He needs a move. He gets over analysed at Man Utd and his club boss has stripped him of captaincy. He is probably about fifth choice (shaw was preferred to him at CB last season) West Ham would have been perfect as they sit deep. I guess his wages broke the deal.
