Over the moon (again!) Was looking through my account on HMRC and spotted I was still paying tax for a company car I handed back 25 months ago. A rebate somewhere in the region of £4.5k heading my way! Seriously, if I grew a brain I'd be fucking dangerous!8 points

Well. I think that if we talk about bad luck, the people of Atleti can give a few classes on it. We have always been called in a derogatory way 'El Pupas' which is something like saying that something bad always happens to us (Pupa is a way of saying hurt). We have played 3 UEFA Champions League finals in our life. -We lost one against Bayern in injury time in 1974 with a shot from more than 35 meters in the last action of the match. -We lost another in the 94th minute in 2014 against Real Madrid. -We lost another on penalties against Real Madrid in 2016 after we missed a penalty in regulation time and Real Madrid scored their goal clearly offside. The history of Atleti is full of moments of this style. I don't know if you remember the 'comical' situation that occurred last year in the group stage between Atleti and Bayer Leverkusen. Atleti needed to score a goal to stay alive in the competition. The referee whistled the end of the game. And when people were already leaving the stadium and the players were going to the locker room tunnel, the VAR said that there was a penalty in favor. Carrasco missed it, the rebound fell to Saúl, who hit the crossbar and the rebound fell again to Carrasco, who shot into an empty goal and, when the ball was almost in, it hit one of our players, Reinildo, and he left. out. I saw that game in the stadium with a friend who was going for the first time. I already knew that we were not going to score that penalty. She is still in disbelief about what happened. For me it was just another day being an Atleti fan.6 points

It’s like everything with them, they try to start banter - which is fair enough - but then can’t take it when it’s done back to them. The season we got relegated and had a season in the championship being a good example, they went fucking mad, which is fine but the issue was they got more absurd about it no matter how blatant it become that roles were reversing “we’re still one place above yas”, then once it did it become “obsessed”, “I’d rather be in the championship winning every week than in the PL”, “I’d rather be in league one winning every week than in the PL”, and now this hysteria and soap boxing over morals. They’ve long tried to point at parts of Newcastle as being dumps, made weird claims on various parts of the area as actually being Sunderland or whatever the fuck else they bleat on about, then once someone, rightly, points out that Sunderland is a dump they cry like that bloke. It’s not a superiority complex, Sunderland just is a dump, much like places like Rotherham, Scunthorpe, etc it’s just a crap town with not much going on, if they want to make themselves feel better by saying only arrogant people think this way they can feel free to delude themselves in a similar manner to this “obsession” shite. This whole thread has basically just become laughing at stuff they’re coming up with . It’s not like we’re coming up with shite like “I saw a bloke on the train in France with a toon top on and shed a tear of pride, if it was a mackem he’d have probably been throwing his shit at people but the toon lad stopped to administer CPR to a bloke who was dying on the train, proper classy lad”.6 points

I had that baldy pervert’s card marked from the first game. Flogging De Gea and replacing him with this Onana clown is just another string in his fraudulent bow. And the media have the cheek to suggest Howe is out of his depth, the fucking clowns5 points

Mine had one of these when he was a toddler. Aged 2-3ish, the daft twat rode it down the stairs ( single flight, no bends). He did a full flip when he hit the bottom and as I ran over expecting to have to call an amberlamps, the little shit was lying there laughing his tits off saying “ Again! Again!” They do calm down though, normally around about the age of 30.3 points

That's what I thought after our second. They're now the second of four. Tbh though, any more than two is basically the same. You just need a bigger house, bigger car and a total frontal lobotomy.3 points

Enjoyed the news that the FC Copenhagen keeper posted to his Instagram that his team "deserved all three points from that shit hole" after their game at Galatasaray last night. He's amended his post after receiving death threats.3 points

The best part of their plan is loaning a bunch of young players who have zero intention of signing permanently for them as well.3 points
-
By consistently buying cheap, young players from leagues such as France and Holland year after year while also bringing through their renowned, world class youngsters (who surely now won’t choose Newcastle over Sunderland at schoolboy level). It’s a plan that worked fantastically for us if you remember rightly.3 points

Tough balance for them in future. They've got to decide in advance whether this year is a 1st place or a 7th place finish. Like deciding whether or not to shoot the moon in Hearts.3 points

Seeing a lot of criticism of Gordon, or Isak, and Burn, but the issues are 100% the central midfield. Sort that out and everything else will fit into place nicely. Bruno's form is improving and yesterday he was closer to what we expect from him, calm under pressure, linking up with Longstaff, breaking their press with a pass or a move. Much better. However, him, Tonali and Longstaff just don't have the familiarity to play the way we di last season with Joe/Joe, Burno and Longstaff. Tonali is a different kind of player and that's taking a while to dovetail with the other profiles. I'm sure had Longstaff not been injured Tonali would have been eased into the side as is Howe's usual approach. The other issue is that teams are avoiding our high press by clipping the ball over it to the flanks. This is where we need a more front foot left back and a more cohesive central midfield. Last season, so many of our goals came from our wide men or striker putting pressure on their fullbacks and centre backs and forcing errors high up the field. So our creative play was beginning 25-30yds from their goal. We need a way to either lure them into playing to their fullbacks, or develop a creative pathway from deeper. Without a true blue number 6 I think we have to play Longstaff as his endeavour and understanding with Bruno makes Bruno + A.N. Other much much better. Our defence was solid last night, but our midfield and attack were misfiring. This is partly due to confidence, partly familiarity and partly due to injury disruptions. We'll be fine. Anyone even suggesting that we should be considering peddling Howe is a fickle prick. We've pasted Villa, competed with Man City, were unlucky against Liverpool, got pasted by Brighton, put in a professional performance against Brentford and, most importantly, gone drew with Milan. In the club's first CL game in 20yrs. 5 players making their CL debut. Several players making their European debut. Without some key players available. Away from home. At a famous old club. To last season's semi finalists. Yes they had 25 Shots but, of those, only 8 were on target, with an xG of 2.2 and a Post Shot xG of 1.2. In other words, they took a load of hit and hope shots, from not particularly optimal positions, and Pope didn't have to make any world class saves to keep us in it. Our best player was Trippier or Longstaff, their best player was Timori. By a mile. Leao was very ASM-like. Calabria didn't know what to do with Gordon and was hooked at half time because he 100% would have got another yellow if he wasn't. Once we get the midfield more confident, assured, and when we get players back from injury or out of poor form, we'll be a much better prospect. We'll do 'em in the return leg.2 points
