That's what it boils down to. I'd rank Gerrard, Scholes and Beckham and the top 3 in my lifetime. And they all came through in the 90's/early 00's

Giggs, Scholes, Keane, Beckham. That was a decent midfield.
Technique wise he's probably the 2nd/3rd best England's produced since I started watching football in the late 90s. He's got a lot of admirable qualities but I reckon he falls just outside the "great" player bracket.

I'm friends with about 5 people I've had run ins with over the years. One of them hit me because I was talking to his girlfriend, even though I've been friends with her for about 8 years and she was standing about 10 yards from my girlfriend. But he now helps me on this Jurassic Park game so he's forgiven.
