  1. Renton. In his small village, I imagine him to be a placid sort of kid, who will happily pop down to the local newsagents, taking orders along the way from old villagers and always having a smile and a hello to the locals. Any newbie coming into the village would be watched by Renton and a pal, who would be positioned in strategic places, using binoculars and walkie talkies to relay the info about this stranger. The stranger will be under surveillance until they are sure that he/she is of no threat to the inhabitants of his beloved village. Once the village is safe, I believe Renton comes onto Toontastic , maybe wearing some sort of superhero type costume and immediately turning into 'ICEBERG', the village super cool hero and will use this persona in chat. Once back at college, I believe he and Bobby, (that'll be his pal....a sort of young Bobby Brady type character from the Brady bunch), will swap notes about their exploits that day and also what they achieved on their respected forums, Bobby being on the Meccano forum. I think Renton fancies himself as a bit of a snob and probably cringes in the company of anyone who isn't wearing a pair of cords and hush puppy type shoes, as well as the mandatory village diamond patterned tank top and clean crisp pressed shit. I could be wrong here, as it's my imagination running riot.... but... as we are giving thoughts on posters, This is mine on Renton. If I'm wrong Renton, don't take it to heart, as we can't all be correct simply based on forum typing can we.
  2. On two of them yes. But that's due to my simpleton thought process. hahaha.
  3. Good idea. Maybe people will know what they're dealing with then and cannot complain that I'm a wind up merchant and will have to accept me as some kind of Autistic simpleton with a vivid imagination with maybe more than a hint of truth in what's expressed from it.
  4. Of course Fish is correct, when isn't he correct.
  5. Look, I put the topic up for people to converse about. If no one's interested, then shut the topic down, it makes no difference to me, I'm just trying to contribute.
  6. I don;t think anyone is anti Shane Ferguson. I like the lad but it's a massive risk pitching him straight in against Man Utd and he best serves as an impact sub until he gets up to full speed and acclimatises properly to the rigours of 90 minutes of football.
  7. Well you know what thought, thought. He thought he'd shit himself and when he looked, he had.
  8. We have 9 points from 6 games and one defeat to the potential champions, what's not working? If by not working you mean juggling with injuries then fair enough, yet all team losing their most influential players will struggle in some shape or form.
  9. I think you've missed the point of this topic but it doesn't matter, you are only one person.
  10. We might end up with some genuine stories once everyone gets all the usual shite out of the way.
  11. Why do I need a psychiatrist for that, I didn't suffer any trauma and I found it helped me later on with those extremely large poo's you have which would normally make you feel like your bum is gonna rip wide open. Thanks to the dentist, I slip slide and wipe as happy as Larry (my other half).
  12. Yeah that's him, I won;t be going back to him again.
  13. It wasn't me that saw the apparitions.
  14. I once went to have a lot of work done on my teeth and was given an needle in my arm on a sort of drip that put me in a sort of sleep. When I woke up, I had no trousers or undies on, which was weird, because I'm positive I went in wearing some. The dentist assured me that I came in with just my tank top on and a Fred Perry T'shirt under it, which was weird.
  15. I don't exactly believe in ghosts as such, we not fully but there's too many people young and old that have experienced some kind of phenomenon and it got me wondering about what kids see, even at young ages, like 3 and 4. A for instance: When my son was 4, his Mam was running him a bath whilst he was sat on the toilet, with the toilet door open. All of a sudden he shouts, "Mam, mam, who's that man with long hair that's just went past." My wife freaked out and said, " where, where, what did you see?"...so my son described the person. He said, " it was a man in a long black dress and he had longish hair but it was a man and he just walked past , who was it?" My wife obviously had no answer but my son would never go up stairs on his own until he was about 10 or so as it stuck in his mind. Now, in reality we it could be said that what he saw was just his imagination playing games with him, yet when we lived in this other house, it wasn't the only strange thing because my daughter went to bed one night, she was about 7 years old and she said a woman at the bottom of her bed told her to go to sleep. I don;t know what to really make of it all and I do know our minds can easily play tricks with tiredness and such but I just wonder what it really is that happens. Has anyone else had any genuine weird visions or whatever or have you as a kid, or even your own kids experienced anything like this?
  16. A goal in an international friendly and 2 sub appearances does not make a player ready. Put Ferguson on for a full game against Man Utd and he will get destroyed unless he has someone to back him up, which won't be Jonas if it's his position Ferguson is taking and it could affect him badly. He is a very adept sub, the same as sammi is and a few other youngsters. If we are struggling in that position, then fair enough but Jonas is not a player I would drop, especially against a team like Man Utd.
  17. I don't think anyone would question Fergusons ability to put a cross in and he's also no slouch, yet can he do this for 90 minutes and also can he do this whilst also keeping his defensive duties intact for the duration. I don't think he's ready for any solid starts on any regular basis in the Prem, yet Europa and the cups may be his forte for this season, with the odd run out in the Prem and many sub appearances. If Pardew feels he's worth a gamble to start, then I would be happy with that as I like the kid. I just think Jonas is a vital cog for us, for now in keeping us more solid, which I think would be Fergusons downfall at this present time, as in 90 minutes for first team action. Any player can change a game attacking wise when brought on as sub against a tiring back line.
  18. Apart from Demba Ba's goals making him man of the match, I though Williamson was excellent.
  19. I'm sure if Pardew thinks Ferguson is worth a start , he will get a start. The simple fact is, Pardew knows more than any of us do about what is working and what isn't working in training, which is why the team spends so much time training. What happens on the pitch on match days CAN work because of that training and the players who he puts out based on it, but equally it can go all to pot and it depends on how the opposition team has set it's stall out. Saying Ferguson should start based on a few decent crosses, is madness. The kid is a good player and a future excellent prospect ad may get a chance here and there to start, depending on injuries/suspensions, yet starting him ahead of seasoned players so early in the season, simply because a few players aren't up to speed yet, is going to be detrimental to them and could hamper their willingness to actually get up to speed. It's a fine line with players as everyone wants action and everyone wants to contribute to a winning system, yet when it doesn't work out as planned, you have to KEEP FAITH. Shola Ameobi is a cracking impact sub, yet starting him...nine times out of ten actually works against us because he tires quickly against fresh players, yet he can look amazing against those same players in the final 20 minutes as a sub...this is where his strength lies, yet he will get the odd start due to the loss of form of a striker because he himself is a seasoned pro, who can be thrust into any game without it overawing him......can Ferguson yet? This is where patience has to come to the fore because wanting youngsters to start on the basis of a few crosses into the box doesn't mean they are going to produce this in a full on game where fatigue will take a bigger toll on that player and possibly leave him on the long term injury list. If your top players are fit, regardless of some not firing on all cylinders, you keep sending them out because quality doesn't disappear overnight. For all Ferguson can cross a ball, Jonas can keep the team in a game and can at times produce his own little bit of magic, yet his main attribute is a never say die attitude and his ability to keep the ball, giving the rest, time to get into position, plus the fact that on his day, he can be a nightmare for defences. Pardew has an 8 year contract, as do the coaches and I'm sure they weren't given them on the basis of not knowing what team to put out based on their knowledge of the players throughout a week of training before any game. We only know , what we see on the pitch, which is out of everyone's hands when the game is in motion and can only be changed by Pardew with a half time talk and selective subs.
  20. Against Man Utd, we have to put our strongest most bullying players on the pitch that do not allow Man Utd to play their game. The key to beating them is to be on to them like a severe rash, all game and have someone with the craft and ability to split them open with a sublime through ball. We have two players capable of doing that in Cabaye and Ben Arfa, plus maybe Anita. Ferguson is a good up and coming little player but starting him might not be the most sensible move as I don't think he;s up to the full rigours of playing from the off, yet he can be a very effective sub, which is how he should be used unless we have no option whatsoever but to put him in due to injuries of the key players.
  21. This is no time for anyone to panic. Remember...even the top teams have dodgy starts to seasons, yet even though we have started with injuries , we are still on 9 points after 6 games, losing only once to the potential prem champions in Chelsea. Granted, we might have scraped through games but then again we did last year, yet also destroyed some teams that no one gave us a hope in hells chance of doing, including Man Utd at home. We haven't hit any real form to speak of and we have the cushion of knowing that our injured players are making progress, which will show once again the quality we have. I know some fans go on about us not buying a defender and this and that but the fact is, the club has a policy of not paying over the odds and are prepared to wait for the right deal, as in Cisse. Yes it might appear to knock us back a bit but it lets clubs know that we are no pushover. Reading raised their game against us in the second half and went for it once they knew our back line were in disarray and could have won the game, yet equally so could we have. The second half was a nail biter for us, yet it was a half which gave the fans excitement compared to the boring first half. We are 3 points behind Man Utd, who everyone thought were gonna be unstoppable with the Van Persie signing. It's not all doom and gloom, so keep your peckers up and let's see what is in store for us as the season progresses.
