As hilarious as it is to imagine what the IRA would have thought if Bobby Sands had been reclassified from a criminal prisoner to a jump suited Guantanamo Bay inmate, I think you've got the wrong end of the stick of that issue entirely.

From such small acorns, such big lies are made. One of the haters earlier posted a story in here with a very informative graph, which showed that rather than "decimating" the manufacturing industry and thus 'ripping the heart out of the economy', all she did was continue a rather steady trend of retraction that had been the economic reality in Britain since at least 1970. That's an ENITRE DECADE before she even came to power!. And by that time, manufacturing was already only something like 20% of GDP. In her time it reduced by a further 5% or thereabouts. Therefore, anyone who claims she destroyed the ecomomy by ripping out (loss making) manufacturing inustries, is talking complete and total rubbish. They also seem to conveniently forget that it was the Tories who brought Nissan to Sunderland. Destroying manufacturing my arse.

Bonkers bonkers bonkers. Thatcher was the last Prime Minister to tell it to you straight. She said what she meant, and you knew where you stood. It is too funny to think that in the era of politicians being accused of spin and of being nothing but professional mouthpieces who quite literally take a degree in how to not answer a question or to tell you nothing about what they beleive or will do, even while talking directly to your face, it is Thatcher who you accuse of being a PR front. You're an idiot. Thatcher was a Grocer's daughter who was elected leader of the Tories by the rank and file MPs, quite to the surprise of the establishment figures in the upper echelon positions of the party, with all the links to industry and the elite they represented. You're a glue sniffing buffoon if you really beleive this stuff. The bankers liked Thatcher because she freed them form dinosaur regulations whose real effects cannot even begin to be conveyed by simply calling them 'capital controls'.

I find all these references to continuing the fight all rather sad. Can't people like him just face up to the fact that the fight is over. This has been the case for, well, at least a decade, surely? There's nobody out there who is in any position to do anything about over-turning Thatcherism. Dennis Skinner being a rude wanker in the Commons once a year is about as good as it gets. Which reminds me, it's hard to know what's worse, the people who are rejoicing at the death of Thatcher long after her role in politics became remotely relevant, or the things the Labour MPs did to her in the Commons when she really was doing it, things which those same lefty cunts class as various serious 'hate' crimes when ordinary people do it today. Hypocrisy lives in the left, it runs right through their petty, hateful, selfish beings.

I see what you did there. V. Funny.

Socialist....Worker? Garlic....Bread?!?!?
-
Fucked over by Thatcher, even after her death. Now that's power. Don't worry son, contact your union rep, he's got your back. Pfft.
-
That's over the top, even for the Daily Mail. Still, if you don't like it, vote for change. If there's anything socialists like better, it's controlling newspapers.

Well, I followed the Northern Ireland one, and it's hilarious. Thatcher demanded an end to bombings before negotiations would start? Thatcher did not want peace because she was personally targetted? She didn't send condolences to Bobby Sands? She publicly questioned the morals of people who bombed women and kids and yet objected to being criminalised? This is evidence that Thatcher "refused to negotiate or compromise" or that she "prolonged the conflict". Fuck me sideways! Not to mention the fact that it contains the claim that the UDR, whch is a British infantry regiment, was one of the paramilitary groups fighting the IRA. A genuine error or an indication of the bias which pervades that piece? Hard to say given how outrageous it is. He can't seem to make his mind up whether she never negotiated and the sources prove that, or that she just didn't give in to their demands quickly enough (funnily enough the Anlog-Irish agreement was just mentioned on Newsnight, pretty sure that counts as evidence of attempted compromise) And if this joker thinks the Troubles are over, he's clearly never been to the province since the Good Friday Agreement was signed. The bombing might have stopped, but the conflict not only still exists, it has been institutinalised by the person this buffoon lauds as the person who did a better job than Thatcher at resolving it. This bloke has for example not even considered the fact that the IRA were forced to those very negotiations because they realised that in military terms they could not win this war, and in public relations terms they could not win it either. No, if the IRA example is anything to go by, he's drawn his conclusions from a very biased and quite frankly ridiculous reading of the actual historical facts.

Ha. Even rioters are Thatcherites nowadays. It's pervaded every sector of society, to its base core. Victory. Victory. Victory.
-
Well, the bloke is lying his ass off about the Northern Ireland issue, so one wonders where he pulled the rest of this shit from? It's a long time since I last saw someone wandering the streets lacking "essential clothing" for example, yet 5.5m is a big chunk of society, and I'm pretty sure the claimed correlation between state ownership of oil companies and their environmental record is 100% jackanory too.
-
Just one question. Where did I ever mention the IMF? Or, if you intended one of your posts to be making a point about it, can you point it out to me, as I've missed it. All I've ever seen you do is argue that the EU is socialist and that the railways need to be nationalised. I thought thats' what we were arguing about. Fuck knows where you got the IMF from.

Once again, let's all remind ourselves that Thatcher never said that there was no such thing as society. She also never said that the market could replace the state. I;ve never even heard of her contrasting efficiency and equity, so God knows what that's about. Thatcher's Britain had many examples of welfare economics, if the intent is to use that label for things the government spends money for long term societal benefits but short term financial losses. And Ken Livingston is a man who couldn't even beat Boris Johnson in an election, he is hardly in a position to comment on the achievements of someone like Thatcher. The very idea that he could even be a minister is laughable, let alone a head of a government. Boris Johnson has acheived more as Mayor of London to change real (ie working class) Londoners lives than Red Ken ever managed while he was the leader of a glorified council.
-
I'm clueless? You've not said a single thing about the EU that even relates to the EU. Maybe it makes sense in lizard land, but that's about it. As for what I do, I probably haven't got the time to put it into words that a nutjob like you would probably understand, so how about just 'railways an shit'?
-
Not even close. The Mackems were falling over themselves to point out that they didn't give a shit if PDC was a fascist as long as he kept them up. And the mackems are supposedly hardcore lefties. More like hard core idiots (I'm convinced some to this day still don't even know what a fascist is).
-
I know enough about it to have a meaningful debate with others who also know what it is, but it seems my imagination doesn't stretch to debating it with someone who thinks its run by the lizard people and can't decide whether he's trying to show the EU is socialist or that VW are.
-
I've never met a Tory who even called himself working class. Even if he was. It's a label used by socialists if anything, something to make their role in society seem more meaningful in comparison to others. Kind of sad when you think about it.
-
Again, what are you trying to prove? Free movement of capital is permitted even in Cuba, the last remaining bastion of true socialism on Earth, so what's your point?
-
Ah, so you're one of those kinds of socialists. Doing alright yourself, so not in any position to be adversly affected by your theories should they not really work out all that well for the proles. I think they called you an aparatchik in the Soviet era. I don't need to prove anything re standard of living, it's common knowledge. If you dispute it, then give an example yourself and we'll see if it stacks up.
-
I don't know, but it hardly matters as far as I can see. If VW moved their factory before the EU came to Poland, then what are you trying to prove with regards the EU being socialist? Surely they would have stopped them removing one of the means of production out of the union if they were. And if it happened after, then again, what are you hopeing to prove? That the EU is the sort of socialist project that allows the means of production to be moved at the behest of its private owners? I don't recall 1970s Britain profiting from being able to have a Skoda factory located in South Shields during the Soviet Era. Although the skills and dedication of the unionised workforce of that time would have produce crap heaps that would have made the proles truly proud of course.
-
The gap has widened because more ambitious people have left you (or whoever it is you are whining about) behind. Their standard of living however is still the same as the 70s. Better even. The idea that the proles have been reduced to working for slave wages with no rights compared to the paradise that was the 70s is really quite ludicrous. Just listen to yourself, it really is just a load of self pitying tripe. You clearly don't know the meaning of the words if you want to apply them in this manner.
-
The lizard people are hard masters indeed. No frontiers indeed. What's that thing the EU introduced? Them dastardly socialists and their frontier enforcing ways.
-
Maybe read it slower? With a dictionary to hand.
-
Aye. It was orchestrated by the Lizard people. I for one welcome our new lizard over-lords. Lizards beats socialists anyday.

Capitalism has no poster boy. It has no little red books or demigogues. To even make that claim shows a fundemental lack of understanding of the concept.
