  1. I’m hopeful, slightly excited at the prospect of a new owner with ambition.. but know full well how this could pan out.

I think different situation to man city, much stricter on ffp these days, although hoping we can actually spend beyond what we do now.. and this sheikh probably not as wealthy as Mansour. We will see.. but Id just be happy with a new owner who would back his manager

Still depends on intent/ambition though - when I heard about a billionaire buying us in 2007 we all thought we'd be spending big and that turned to shit.

true!  not all billionaires are equal .. :icon_lol:

lets hope if this goes through, the next one has looser purse strings

  3. Can't disagree with the comments above. Let's see what comes out in the wash.. but surely an elaborate scam for Ashley to get a sheikh to publish in his own media he is buying the club etc and damage whatever rep. he has in his country.

  4. aye the hysteria on twitter is daft. Honestly.. just some decent investment is all we need. Look how strong we finished last 3rd of season. If we had Rondon permanent, and Rafa signed 3 or 4 of his first choice (or thereabouts) players.. we could be making a go of competing with the teams above up to 6th/7th.. I'd be ower the moon with that.

From Peter Graves on Twitter - Statement from Bin Zayed group being stood up by #nufc officials is clearly a MAJOR breakthrough. Many will only believe it when its "official" and that is wise in my opinion. But told by a source that group intend to invest heavily in club and City. Could be hugely exciting

fucking hell he might buy byker wall then
