I've got a Zen Sleek Photo at the moment, in the past i've had a Zen Xtra and Zen Touch, both of them knacked in some way, meaning they had to be replaced.

  3. Digital music player maker Creative Technology has asked a US court to ban Apple from selling or marketing its iconic iPods in the US.

Creative claims that the navigational menu used for finding and playing music on the iPod, violates its patent for its own Zen MP3 player.

It applied for the patent in 2001 which was granted in August 2005.

Since then it has been threatening legal action. The complaint was lodged at the San Francisco district court.

    Import laws breach?

Last year Creative boss Sim Wong Hoo told the BBC he planned to "pursue aggressively" the US patent.

Through the court it is seeking an injunction and increased damages for what it says is a "wilful infringement of the Zen patent".

Creative said it had also filed a complaint to the US International Trade Commission, asking it to investigate whether Apple had breached import laws by selling iPods and the iPod Nano.

It claimed it had met with Apple CEO Steve Jobs and other representatives in 2001 to discuss ways the two companies to work together but had rejected Apple's proposals.

Nobody from Apple would comment on the legal action.

    Market share

Creative has struggled against the market dominance of the iPod and earlier this month plunged into the red.

It blamed its $114m (£62m) losses for the three months to March on the plunge in MP3 player prices and its need to get rid of stock.

But it pledged to return to profit in the second half of 2006, saying it was renewing its focus on high-margin products, such as computer sound cards.

Apple launched the iPod in 2001 and now has 72% of the US portable MP3 player market while Creative has less than 10%, according to research group NPD.

  4. Agree with Sima.

While there is good reason to be afraid of Barca, I think Arsenal do have a chance tomorrow. After all, who can predict anything after last year's final??

Dont skin me for this please, but ive noticed on many forums and in the international media itselfthat the English seem to terrified of barcelona and in general the flair and style of the spanish league in general. Everytime an occasion such as this comes up they always manage to bring about some controversy out that undermines the whole game and gives them ready made excuse for a defeat.

Personally I think the english league is the best in terms of competitivness but there's no arguing that it isnt anywhere near as good as the spanish when it comes to attacking play and flair. The sooner you accept that the better. Your league is great in its own way....

Saying that Arsenal are the one team in England who can play as good football as any european side and they have a chance in the final. But I'll be supporting barca ;)

I've watched Barca a lot this season, and they aren't invincible. Their keeper, Valdes, is quite erratic at times, and doesn't inspire confidence in his back-line, he's been a bit suspect with backpasses aswell.

  5. I got in the stadium around 7.00 last night, and with those cardboard squares all neatly organised on the seats, Saint James' Park looked very classy. It was as if the seats were coloured in black and white stripes.

The club should invest to get it done proper, instead of the pale shade of grey we have at the moment.

The East Stand paddock used to be in black and white sections IIRC (when they had the old executive boxes in there).

    EDIT: Yep - like this?

That was the old Family Enclosure, wasn't it?

  6. Been looking at your site, Bebside, realised my mate created it, I play (or played, that should be) in the Blyth and Wansbeck league, for the Whitley Bay Rockcliffe.

I was hoyed off the team because of showing my anger about the way we were playing a bit too loudly, leading to heated arguemnets with a couple of players.
