  1. Cycle doon Grey street on the path no way on gods earth was he going to stop in time.

Reminded me of going under the flyovers on the coast road no control whatsover also rosehill bank.

    Anyone any similar memories/ :baby:

Remember cycling down Rosehill Bank for the first time, went a lot faster than I thought I would, was cursing my mate who persuaded me to go along with him when he went fishing

  2. David Conn's book is worth a look, has an extensive chapter on Hillsborough and how badly the families of those that died were done to in the aftermath.

Of course no one in power gives a shit, they were very happy to conclude they were all blameless and sweep it under the carpet.

  3. Team coming out, usually at the last home match of the season with a bag of penny floaters each to kick into the crowd. Top marks for the time some of them kicked theirs into the away end.

Ball Boys having to wear those trampy co-op tracksuits, by lad they must have been freezing in the winter.

  4. Detroit are my favourite team to watch in the NHL, Lidstrom and Zetterburg are outstanding players. And Mike Babcock their coach played for one year in the North East with the Whitley Warriors, so even more reason to like them.

I like watching Vancouver for Luongo too, he's an incredible goalie.

ESPN America, formerly NASN is a good place to watch NHL.

Toronto are my favorite team....always have been, seems I like the teams with the 40+ year droughts for championships

He he Maple Leafs are patently the NUFC of the NHL!

Trade deadline on Wednesday too, wonder how many Leafs are left after that.

Wish we could trade away some of our players, Trading Viduka, Smith, Duff, Geremi and Cacapa for a bag of grass seed would be fair value.

you reckon any of them can skate?

Not sure, but stick tubbo Viduka in net and you've got a guaranteed shut out every time, he'd comfortably fill every inch of space the opposition could shoot the puck into

His 70 grand a week wages might mess up a teams salary cap mind

  7. Who wants slightly cheaper tickets anyway? Not that mine is cheaper, but the team on the pitch is the priority. £2-3 off per match? Who gives a fuck about that man? If they were confident of improving matters on that score this wouldn't be needed, would it? The May deadline is the most telling thing for me.

I echo this.... What I want to see is the investment which is very visably needed in the playing squad. Given this bunch of monkey's previous form and the May deadline - I have no doubt that they have every fucking intention of fleecing the fans further.

If this gesture was as heart-felt as they're pathetically trying to make it seem - surely they'd run with the discounts all summer?

As for the slap in the face they've given the fans who took the 3 year option last summer, I genuinely believe it never crossed their minds what issues this statement will have caused.

    They thick as fuck man!

Aye, they want the money in by the end of May.

This year the season doesn't end until then, so the transfer market isn't open til after their deadline. It's all set up to continue their non spending ways.

    How convenient.

  8. Never been able to stand the woman, and while I do have sympathy for her situation I'm sick of seeing her stupid mug on the news and in the paper every day.

It'll be even worse when she dies, by which time I expect public opinion of her to elevate to the same level as Princess Di and Mother Teresa. Still at least she's not a scouser, so the public mourning period will be weeks and not months.

  9. aal the same - love you when you're rich and screw you when you're poor

    Very true.

I'm coming around to the readies under the mattress approach, no hidden charges there

  10. THE firm that text racist jokes to a Muslim is under fire again – for a vile jibe about footie pundit Mark Lawrenson.

A daft punter asked 118 118’s “Ask Us Anything” utility if Match Of The Day’s Lawro was gay.

They received the reply: “Mark Lawrenson is married and regularly takes it up the a***. thx!” A 118 188 staff member spotted the slur on a log sheet.

He said: “We laugh at some questions we see but this is beyond a joke. You can’t send things like this.”

Ex-Liverpool legend and BBC star Lawro, 51, is married to second wife Susie and has a son and daughter, aged eight and five.

    ;)

He's taking legal action now according to yesterday's paper, those scamps at 118 must have really annoyed him.

  11. I'm sick to the back teeth of Allardyce's announcements explaining away nowt was his fault and he was hard done by.

Whatever the argument about putting the club up for sale, he had enough backing and supposed nouse as a manager not to have a team playing piss poor losing football and on a fast track to the championship.

He may be right about Ashley but he's still a charlatan who got his big chance he'd been pining for for years and failed.

    Tosser.

  12. Who's his agent? Not that I'd be making accusations that Redknapp could make some money from signing him, not me, no way.

I thought that as well, but of course good 'ol Harry will be one million percent innocent of any accusations like that.

Should count our blessings really, wouldn't have been that long ago we were scrabbling around for garbage like him.

  13. After his football career ended Green became a maths teacher in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, a role he continues to fulfill.

    Fair Play.

Just shows you how daft the money is now.

Does the Pools Panel as well iirc.

  14. Beardsley is and always will be the best player I've ever seen in a black and white shirt, but Gazza ranks alongside him and had the ability to even surpass the great man but he left just before his 21st birthday.

As for Tony Green, I often hear old cunts in the toon pissed in bars singing something along the lines of "...he was the greatest player I've ever seen, and his name was Tony Green...." does anyone know the rest of the words?

'We got Tudor from Sheffield and Hibbitt from Leeds,

MacDonald from luton and Smith Aberdeen,

But we've got the greatest the world's ever seen,

we bought him from Blackpool, his name's Tony Green'

There was some great songs back in the day like.
