  1. You just know too the one time he decides to name an unchanged line up, one of them will fall down the stairs after the warm up and force his hand.

Possibly Peter Crouch after doing an impression of bambi on ice if we get a cold spell.

  2. She must have been presenting on there for years, I remember reading when her dad got peddled from St James she was down to read the news and they switched people round so she wouldn't have to go on air and say her dad got sacked.

It'll be another presenter that gets the honour of reporting on Newcastle winning a trophy then. . .

  3. I've done it a couple of times on a short break for a couple of nights and it's been good, personally I wouldn't do any longer than that, but I've really enjoyed doing it.

It was good as I was motivated to get round the sites of interest etc, rather than just get on the ale like I'd do if I was with the lads.

  4. Newcastle's transfer activity is scuppered this year because of the splurge on Owen and Luque last year, I think they've hardly put a dent in that outlay never mind spend more cash on signings this year.

Personally I reckon the only reason we got Duff was because FF borrowed against the future earnings we'll get from the big tv contract next year.

    Canny thread to read this.

Where N'Zogbia is concerned I think all efforts must be made to keep him, he's the sort of player to build a side around. Successful clubs aim for two good players in each position, if that's what Glenn's trying to do, good on him.

  5. Aye but don't worry. A big club like Newcastle with champions league pretensions has a squad that can cope with the loss of it's first choice right back.

We'll simply put the understudy in, as all good clubs have cover for every position.

It's only clubs with dickhead chairmen that waste money on panic buys and pop star signings that would draft in a centre half that's come up through the youth team.

  6. If there is around 5 million they've got they should go in and get Nugent from Preston. They'd get him and he could just be a really good player in the premier league.

Wasn't Brock on about him? Had a canny game for the U21s the other night.

Aye he scored. Got two good goals last Friday night against Wolves too.

Just seems to me it's best to go in for someone on the up, we'd be able to get without too much trouble rather than taking the expensive foreign gamble option.

  7. Similar to the bindippers IMO <_<

They are the current glory team for shallow kids who know nowt about football to 'support'.

It was man u in the nineties and liverpoo in the eighties. I even saw a kids in blackburn shirts the summer after they won the league.

There was this little shit round our way who wore a Blackburn top when they won the league, didn't see it when they plummetted down the league the season after like.

Then when we signed Shearer he had a Town top on, explaining it away that he was a supporter of whoever Shearer played for.

I think someone ended up sticking one on him.

  8. 18 year old centre half from Cambridge United has been training with us for the past week.  It's on Cambridge's official site, so he could be one of our new signings.

Kirkey might know about him cos I think he goes to the odd Cambridge United game??

Anyway, I like the idea of Roeder buying youngsters on the cheap, assuming he can turn them into decent players.

Know nothing about him mate, stopped popping along to the occasional U's game after the last time I was there and the robbing bastards were charging £15 to get in.

Cambridge have always been good at developing their young talent though, so I wouldn't be surprised if he's decent.

Would be slightly pissed off personally if he got a shot ahead of Dave Edgar, who I think has got the makings of a decent player, and is already on our books.

  9. Wish Brechin was nearer or at least in a more accessable part of Scotland..could coax the Mrs into seeing the Scottish Highlands...oh look..Brechin are at home...

Give yourself a genius level pat on the back fella, you've just given me a cracking idea.

  10. It's a tabloid 'allegedly' but they were supposed to have practicsed penalties last week.

And allegedly the stewards were kept busy fetching balls that had missed the target.

Whether it's true or not I don't know, but it might explain why the England penalties in the shootout went quite central and at 'saveable' height instead of low and hard in the corners.

They'd have been better off just copying the Germans from the night before, they were absolutely brilliant.
