  1. Milner was class today. Got MOTM didn't he? Worked hard... him and N'Zogbia gave their right-back (De Ridder?) hell. Hard fought win. Lucky to get the goal in the last minute of the game but we fully deserved the 3 points no question. We created a load of chances and were denied a second penalty for an obvious handball. Martins looked lively, caught them out a couple of times towards the end. He really can let shots rip out of nowhere. Their goal should never have been. Complete lack of communication between the centre backs. Roz should have done something with it but ended up hesitating and let Jerome in. No real surprise considering the chopping and changing we've had to keep doing along the back four. Needs sorting out quickly.
  2. 2-1 Martins and Butt. Kapo with a late consolation. Smith sent off in the second half for 2 yellows. Odds?
  3. New episode. http://nufctalk.sport-casts.com/nufctalk_20071208.mp3 Arsenal post-match reaction. Birmingham pre-match talk.
  4. Didn't score all season though. Was playing more as a wide man, but yeah, fair point. He's not been a prolific goal scorer anywhere he's played. For Finland he's averaged a goal every 3 games, which is about his best record. In the Russian Premier its been a goal every 4 games. Still not bad considering the role he plays in a team. He's not an out-and-out striker, but he can certainly play there. For us I'd see him more as a wide player/attacking midfielder.
  5. Was thinking last night we're kind of lacking in that area now, although Geremi struck one quite nicely last night. Oh for the days where we had Nobby, Robert and Shearer standing over the ball... Exactly... our delivery into the box has been lacking for a while. Freekicks, corners, crossing in general. Alright, Milner and Martins are new to the 4-3-3 way of playing, but their delivery from crosses could be a lot better. As it happens, Eremenko played as part of a front 3 at Lecce, so the system wouldn't be alien to him.
  6. Worth a punt if he's not going to cost too much. You'd have to see it as a risky buy, though. Perhaps cheaper and more suited to our needs would be Alexei Eremenko jr. (if we're raiding the Russian leagues). He's young, has played in Europe before, and is now a regular for Finland. He can play as an attacking midfielder, winger, or striker. Two-footed, has a good delivery of the ball, also known as a bit of a freekick specialist.
  7. You're right. Slight technical problem we're working on. How bad was it for you? Still listenable?
  8. Link? Removed, alas Don't get me started on that.
