Wouldn't be surprised mind if the amount of stuff he'd drank was exagerrated to allow them to argue he was had a drink problem (which he admitted) and that he was now having treatment etc. to help sort that out. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if he'd drank that much either.
Covered all the bases there alex.

Dear me!
We won lads!

Anyone see the Express front page today? 'Migrants cause surge in crime'. Not even kidding either!

Was it not the 1999 World Cup Luke? I seem to remember some Pakistan fans charging through some of the least useful mesh fencing I have ever seen at one of the games I was at. Was literally just like charging through a paper banner! I agree totally by the way, was fantastic to go on the pitch. Always used to run on to get the ball after a boundary, not allowed to do that any more either!
-
They're doing it at the Riverside as well, I'm refereeing some of the matches! They're donating part of the proceeds to charity, not a bad idea if the pitch can handle it.

Where are you ONut?!

I've met Wilkie, he did a talk in at the Blue Flame. To be honest, he came across as a bit arrogant, seemed to be living off the fact he sent Cantona off for the kung fu kick (even though he admitted he didn't see it, his linesman told him to send him off) and that he reffed Beckhams first ever senior game. As an aside, I won a MOTD video in the raffle and he signed it. Now that's class.
He was already sent off when he launched the vicious and unprovoked attack upon the innocent bystander.
Was going to say that, Wilkie actually didn't see the kick at all, he only found out about it after the game! A bit sly of him to say that like!
-
Courtney is fantastic, he doesn't accept any money for the games he does, just does it for the love of it!
-
I've been reffed by George Courtney before
Fantastic man, one of the nicest blokes I've ever met. He's still reffing youth games, even though he's in his mid-60s!

And who gives a fuck?
Me for one, seeing as he's my 'boss!'. You knew exactly what the thread was going to be about, why did you bother opening it?
-
Where did you hear this mate?
-
Some nice balanced views in this thread then! How come Thatcher never gets afforded the balanced critique of her leadership that every other leader gets on here? I'm no fan of her, but would not be pig-headed enough to deny that she did serve to do some positive things, such as reducing union power and City deregulation.

There was a lad used to turn up where we used to kick about when we were younger handing out yells and reds and writing in his book and stuff, which just laughed him off
Aye, sorry about that.
-
I was always a fairly bad player, got into refereeing though and I've done games well well above the level I played at. Maybe an option for you self confessed shit players?
-
How did that bloke who was on his 20th nomination without winning do?
-
Hahahah, was down the pub today and some bloke was insisting that it's over the whole match, he had a go at me about it. 'What the fuck do you know about betting anyway?'
He thought he'd won £100 as well!

I don't think it'd be a remedy, I could see us going into administration!
How can a business with no debt and the benefit of a huge parachute payment go into administration?
The parachute payment isn't exactly 'huge' is it and it only lasts for one or two seasons doesn't it? I'm more referring to the spiral of players/staff leaving, lack of season ticket renewals and failure to get promotion again. I'm no economists, but I know that relegation isn't exactly economically sound!
Not sure if its correct but I heard a while back that finishing bottom of the premier league, including parachute payments is worth £50m.
Fair enough, but I'm still not hoping Newcastle go down!

This is the worst page of text I've read in my life!
-
As much as I hate to say it relegation is probably the only long term remedy for the malaise. We need a fresh start and barring a miracle we're going to keep churning out the same shite year after year.

Is Skol taking Fish's pretentious student role now then?
