I just took a guess at why you were banned based on the shit I've read from you in the past. I care so much about my "position of authority" that I don't have a fucking clue and I couldn't give a fucking toss, to put it mildly. I just find the way you talk about the admins - and in particular your inability to see the incredibly high levels irony when you do - absolutely hilarious. And I've been a season ticket holder my entire life, by the way, and lived slap-bang in the center of the town for 15 years... So when I say you come across as a first class dickhead I'm pretty sure that means I also have the necessary credentials to qualify the statement.

It prevents forum "invasions" like the one with turkish blokes a few years back. It doesn't have to be non-ISP, it's just non-hotmail and one or two others.

Even if you use a proxy there's still plenty of other ways of telling who's who, most of the time. Some of which are built into the software, others are somewhat more manual methods.

Interesting observation considering the post count of those involved. Basically, the entire humour seems to be in ridiculing the mods/admins, but what I don't understand is where's the fun in that, it's like shooting fish in a barrell as the mods are just kids. Bit embarrassing tbh. Worse though they then come over here making out like theyre above it all whereas it's clear that NSG etc have got as inflated opinions of themselves as the mods that theyre sending up. In all seriousness, when TT and N-O were merged it was hideous, and it was because the mods/admins/HTT's henchmen were cunts. The reaction of TT however was to just dissociate itself from that carry on because, although you could quite easily make the new set up look stupid, there was no enjoyment in it as they were in all honesty a bunch of kids. It's boring. The difference with NSG etc (as evidenced in this thread) is that this is actually the stuff they thrive off. They don't ever seem to tire of it and glory in how ridiculous their various bans have been. Which I don't doubt, but why would I fucking care? The site is a joke, so yes, the bans are going to be ridiculous. It doesnt need 20 pages for us to understand that, we understand it immediately because it's the place we fucked off from. It sounds like an overreaction, but that's the worry for me. The two boards are so very different because the sense of humour is so different. I just don't want this place going like N-O. It's fucking mind-numbing. I can't be fucked with the same old mundane, childish bickering that plagued the forums a year or two back; so if you have a problem with something or if you want to flounce in the most spectacularly drastic manner imaginable, just do it via PM or do it somewhere else. Serious question here, but don't all mods have the power to lock topics, delete posts and un/ban people? As the parkmeister says, I only moderate general chat now, because it's pretty much the only forum I post in and I can't be bothered with the whole admin thing any more. I can edit, delete, sticky (etc) posts in that forum, but I don't have admin access, and no, I can't unban you. And even if I could I wouldn't because the decision has already been made (I'm guessing after some kind of vote), and I'm not (quite) arrogant enough to think I have a superior opinion to the rest of the admin. Apart from indi. Whose opinions are typically absolutely pathetic. But anyway... If I had been an admin, and there had been a vote, hypothetically speaking, I would have probably voted against the ban. But I don't know the full story, so...
