Following on from his tedious row with Benitez.

A few points from the opening paragraph:

Sam Allardyce, who is often criticised for his cautious approach, has said the image of Manchester City as an attractive side to watch is not entirely accurate. "When you go and watch a game like City v Liverpool and see City set up at home, saying 'we are not going to get beaten', well . . ." the Newcastle manager said. "Sven is getting [favourable] headlines but he is putting up a 4-1. I watched the whole game and he didn't let his side go out to attack. Apart from three players no one got anywhere near the Liverpool 18-yard box."

1. What do you know about attractive football??

2. Eriksson's plan to set out a team not to get beat worked because they were tactically spot on and well organised - something you have been trying to do at all away games since Bolton and still yet to master, however it only took Eriksson one go and he got it spot on.

Thick fat potato headed wanker.

The reason Sven didn't get stick for it is 1) They are doing really well and have played some great stuff earlier in the season and 2) When they shut up shop against Liverpool they did it effectively, i.e. by keeping a clean sheet. And I can't believe for one second Allardyce isn't fully aware of this despite his comments.

When City try and be defensive they can do it effectively, hence the fact that theyºve conceded less than half the number of goals at home as we have. If we were playing defensively yet doing it well then Fat Sam wouldnºt be hearing half as many complaints.

"at home"

If they were that good at defending you wouldn't need that qualifier would you?

The topic being discussed was about City shutting up shop at home, hence the "at home" part.

Theyºve also conceded less goals than us away from home as well if it makes you feel any better.

What he fails to mention there is that Sven's team don't hoof the ball 50 yds upfield as soon as they win posession. They attempt to move the ball accurately and quickly to the front men to hit on the counter which is a million miles from Sam's direct football philosophy.

That's what I posted on NO, and it pretty much hits the spot having watched last night's game.
