Newcastle United's Andy Carroll is keen on a loan move to Norwich City, according to the player's agent.

Carroll returned to St James' Park last month after a loan spell at Preston North End.

Norwich manager Glenn Roeder is reportedly interested in bringing in a striker on loan as Jamie Cureton is currently sidelined after having his appendix removed.

However, Roeder, who handed Carroll his Newcastle debut during his time on Tyneside, may face competition from Championship rivals Ipswich.

The 19-year-old's agent Peter Harrison told the Norwich Evening News: "Andy is certainly interested in Norwich

"I'm going to sit down and assess the situation with Andy and talk it through, but a lot of it would depend on whether [Newcastle manager] Kevin Keegan gives it the go-ahead.

"There are other clubs interested in Andy with Ipswich being one of them."
