The nukes thing is casue they have China on one side and Pakistan on the other. And they've already had wars with both.

They bottled one with China about 40 years ago iirc, over a border dispute.

But China after Tibet is still stealthily nicking/coveting bits of the Himalaya. The ideal place for missile silos. There is a real paranoia about China in India - imagine living next door to China who in a conventional war would flatten any army on earth.

 

Yes by sheer numbers, but if you had 50 of the hardest armed forces from 30 of the biggest militaries in the world in a field fighting to the death. There'd be 10 men standing at the end and they'd all be SAS.
