The fact he can somehow keep losing more respect is impressive I’ll give him that. At least stick to your guns ffs. Embarrassment. As far as I’m concerned anyone in football that defends Ashley is simply a cunt. There are owners who run clubs into the ground and every football fan (piss taking aside) should look at that person with disdain, the Blackburn Venki (sp?) ownership, the way Bolton have been run, Blackpools ownership, the nightmares Portsmouth had etc, I put Ashley into that group of owners that are simply in it for themselves and are the exact sort of people that are ruining football for a lot of people. For people that supposedly like football to come out in support of people like that is completely contradictory. Ashley is anti-football, he’s taking what should be a proud and good sized club and running it into the ground for his own pocket, he’s sold off land assets, he’s stripped the clubs playing staff assets, he’s refused to take care of stadium and training facilities, and for the “he’s took the club out of debt” argument he’s simply moved the debt to himself and will ask the club for it back when time comes, I’m also far from convinced £120m or so debt for a PL club would have proved to be some issue that would have seen us end up like Leeds or Pompey, it’s also somehow growing despite the years of PL money and the reduction in player spending (wages & profits on transfers). Fucking shameful stuff from Ferdinand.4 points

One thing I've never really got is the need of fans of other clubs with shit owners to downplay Ashley's shitness. As if the Venky's clusterfuck is diminished by talk about Ashley's. Shouldn't they lump on, raise the issue on a broader platform? The Venkys, Dutchalet(sp?) Oyston, Ashley and so on, these are all men who shouldn't own a piece of the local community because they're irresponsible custodians. You wouldn't entrust the running of the local historical monuments to them because you know they'd ruin them, why is it ok for them to run a football club? The other fans should be joining in protests, they should be working together to oust bad owners throughout the league.2 points

The FA are as much to blame as anyone for allowing football to be ruined for tens of thousands (if not more) of supporters of clubs throughout the country. There's no chance they'll ever do anything about it unless something catastrophic happens to Liverpool or Man Utd either.2 points

Indeed. If it is one of THOSE clubs, it is the professional thing to do - feel the contact and go to ground. If it is us - he should have been stronger and went to ground too easily.2 points

this is how is see it: may's deal is voted down. corbyn calls confidence vote, which he wins, mainly because all side of the house are simply sick of the fucking sight and sound of may. GE forced. corbyn forms coalition government, on mandate that he can negotiate a better deal. article 50 extended. to no one's surprise corbyn's promise turns out to be absolute fantasy and he brings back a deal almost identical to May's. corbyn deal voted down JRM, the new leader of the opposition, calls a confidence vote, forcing another election. the cycle continues. permanent parliamentary deadlock and brexit dominates the UK political landscape for generations to come. Absolutley spot on. Was listening to the radio / podcast and they had the head of Blackpool Supporters Trust on. Disgrace. The FA want to be ashamed on themselves. But, it's the same as why the only positive dope tests are those small fry players. I.e Too many people with greasy palms in football.1 point

Only 2 episodes available but it's better than the last season already.1 point

Yes, JC’s refusal to fight the election on a remain ticket and instead persist with this fantasy that he should campaign on being able to negotiate a better deal makes him unelectable and the prospect of another GE pretty pointless1 point

I get that it's annoying but you have to just ignore it. Or better still don't watch it. I haven't watched the build up to a football match in years cos ultimately it doesn't matter what these people think and invariably what they think is wrong because they're thick. Or worse than that, they're just saying wrong stuff to get a bite, which is exactly what's happening here. We don't win by trying to counter it, we win by ignoring it. You're right that we shouldn't have to listen to what some Arsenal player who gets his knowledge from the back page of the Sun thinks about Newcastle and that the broadcaster should be doing better than that....but we don't have to watch or listen to it. And when you don't, you make what that person thinks irrelevant, which is what it actually is. When it gets rehashed on twitter, that gives it relevance. People are moaning on twitter about Keys trying to stay relevant and in the public eye.....aye, he is, and guess what, you're helping him. (not you personally) Sorry, rant. It just annoys me because Keys has hit the fucking jackpot this weekend and I hate the irrelevant little fat, middle management, never kicked a ball in his life, cunt.1 point

I totally understand this but unfortunately, in the case of Ferdinand, he's been giving a platform to spout his shite on television with no real opponent to counter his shit. I think BT knew exactly what was coming which is why Humphrey had a bit of a go at camel features for the 'controversy' and 'debate'. Joe Cole was a Chelsea player, why the fuck was Ferdinand there? This is the trouble with sky and BT, their absolute insistence on having the same LFC/MUFC/AFC whatever, arseholes being expected to comment on a club they've no fucking interest in. (Despite being paid to!)1 point
-
I tell you what though. He's got his shit range of gear a lot more publicity than he would have if he hadn't made his comments about NUFC, exactly as he no doubt hoped. If you're a dickhead like Keys and Twitter blows up when you say something twatful, you win. The people making all the noise are doing exactly what you hoped for. Ditto Ferdinand. I wish people had the self control to not fucking react to this shit and just let it die on the vine. Even if you make the cleverest, most withering tweet of all time, if it prolongs the outrage, the likes of Keys and Ferdinand still win.1 point
