My step-dad, who looked very much like Sutcliffe, was interviewed twice by the Ripper cops. I remember really hoping it was him so he’d be fucked of to jail ( he was an absolute cunt) Anyway, they’re both dead now, fuck the pair of them.4 points

A pint of Peroni, cheers! (Impossible to say but loads stand out, obviously the first, 0-4 Goodison. Baseball 4-1 defeat then the victory a few months later. Peterborough, Grimsby, Highbury, Upton park, Ayresome park, Burnden, Roker..... basically the old grounds. Europe came at the wrong time for me, personally).2 points

Sunderland AFC, now that irrelevant that this thread is basically about a knacker pretending to buy them, (who even they have seen through immediately), rather than the club themselves.2 points

That has to come from their side though. It's down to the Republicans, the Tories to pull back from the divisive rhetoric and try to corral their more reactionary supporters. If any blame/demands come from the left it'll only push them further away from sense.2 points

Where does it say the R is decreasing? We are currently having an explosion of cases, with every area of the NE going up bar York. A lot of this might be down to last minute blow outs before lockdown was implemented. Mind, my observations are that nobody gives a shit about lockdown this time around, other than pubs being shut, most people are socialising as normal. So I don't expect we are going to be in a good place come 2nd December. Personally I think what we needed was a full lockdown which was strictly enforced, not this half arsed shit. If we got covid down to manageable levels by Xmas we might have been able to ride it out until spring and vaccination. Not now though.2 points

A lot like the UK, mainly England if I'm honest, we've just got to accept that a large percentage of the population are just downright nasty cunts.2 points

Hi Everyone. Hope this isn't out of place here, just wanted to say hello and let you know about a podcast that myself and two friends have started. It's football based and all very light hearted. Anyway, the reason for me posting in here was that this week, we had Warren Barton on the podcast and he spoke very fondly of his time at Newcastle. You can tell he still has a real soft spot for the club and you fans. If any of you would like to check it out (and I would encourage it!) i've put the video at the bottom of this post. Please do give it a go and if you like it, please like and subscribe. We're trying to get more and more guests to come on too, so if there is anybody you've like to see, let us know and we'll see what we can do. Feel free to give me some feedback too, but please be nice 😅1 point

We shouldn't let North West Durham off the hook - Thatcher might as well have nuked Consett in 1980 and 40 years later they voted Tory - I'm torn between sympathy/pity and thinking a nuke now wouldn't be a bad idea..1 point

This red wall thing, pretty fucking sure swathes of Yorkshire and lancs have been Tory on a fairly regular on/off basis. Obviously a couple of standout results came in at Blyth and Sedgefield which was shocking but by and large it's the usual suspects throughout England who are thicker than a castle door, racist and believe any old shit if one of their 'betters' from Eton tell them the score via the usual channels. Honestly, you could be on holiday and pick them out with a probable very high percentage of correct guesses, especially when there's an international football tournament on. Red wall? Pffft. Don't lump the M62 area in with me. (Hoping the gullible cunts in Blyth etc switch straight back and think they will in all honesty).1 point

Aye, the first lockdown qas strict and got it down to 0.6 to 0.8, but this was maintained for weeks, which in turn got prevalence down. R isn't so important when prevalence is low, especially if you have an effective test and trace program. But without this, R will increase and with it so will prevalence. Prevalence gets too high, you lose control, and end up where we are, again.1 point

Anything above 1 it will increase. And its its very hard to get it this low. Even at 1 we are will have a constant rate of infections and deaths, and you have to take the lag into account. If we get it to 1 expect 600+ deaths every day for months on end. Then consider how the NHS can cope with that. I'm so sick of the incompetence of this government.1 point
