Have been mulling all of this over a bit and I state that I've arrived at a change of heart on my position on whether to vote or not vote for Labour in future based on my principles - I think in normal circumstances that's fair enough to do, and I'd stand by it - but given where we are right now, if Farage is on the ticket at our next GE, I'll vote for whoever the fuck is mostly likely to win otherwise, irrespective of what they stand for. I'd say the same should go in all Western countries - we have to defeat this cancer, get to a period of normality, and then put up safeguards. Aside from that, who's up for Germany re-militarising? Assuming they can hold off the AFD. We should just end any significant ties with the US. Traitors and liars. Under Trump they're just another Russia.5 points

Spoken like someone who has never set foot in a council estate .. we were raised to think that there was only one thing worse than a copper, a grass. I reckon our parents thought more highly of nonces tbh My mate got pissed one night and fell asleep on a bench. A copper very kindly offered to give him a lift back to our other mate’s flat in Elswick and said mate was beyond raging that he got out of a bizzie van and walked into his like he’d just been collecting his blue giro. The copper was only doing a good deed, and my mate was worried his flat would get bricked because of it. The other lad was obviously not from a council estate and didn’t see the issue4 points

Lads calm down, the caldera in the US is going to blow just in time to wipe out 70% of the world’s population. At least it won’t leave nuclear fallout behind and we can build back better.4 points

Aye, strange that isn't it I had a convo with some right wing twat the other day, suggested to him that joining a federal EU was a safer answer in uncertain times than going it alone. He refused point blank because doing so would usher in 'one world government'. Instead, he suggested, we could join the US as a state. Which is apparently completely different.4 points

No they don't, you just think they do because it's what they tell you to keep you on side. They want to further accentuate wealth inequality and privatise more and more of the system so that there is a clear differential between them and us. They tell you that they want to prevent immigration but as you saw from the Tories, they know they can't actually do this without fucking the national economy. All Brexit achieved was changing where the immigrants were coming from - this is because the issue is systemic within capitalism, not some sort of woke culture war. The sooner all of us start fighting this solely on economics, the sooner any of us might get what we want. EDIT - I'll add to this that falling birth rates in the West might be less of an issue if more ordinary people had more money in their pockets day to day. We have immigration in part because the rich have robbed us all.3 points

There’s only really one safeguard that would be effective Trump Farage, that Argentinian prick and all the other right wing Muppets only there because they are Putin’s bitches The problem is Putin He needs to be removed from power You won’t do it voluntarily because if he did with a matter of hours, he’d find himself losing his balance very close to 10 story window. The Western intelligence agencies of Europe need to grow a set and take him out3 points

I've thought about that too. I genuinely fear the Chinese less than the US at this point. I would build up trade with them at the expense of American trade. In this case physical separation will be a good thing, but they can buy our services and we their EVs. They will become the dominant super power, see how the US likes those apples. Bad news for Taiwan mind.3 points

It’s ironic that the whole push towards trump was based on being terrified of globalisation and a one world government yet these lunatics are trying to push out leaders in favour of their mates so that they can all rule the world as a collective.3 points

I made that suggestion on here a while back and since then I've noticed many other people suggest it. Not straight forward though, a major factor in trading is economic gravity, you can't physically shift where Canada is so it will always be the case most their trade will be with the US, even if that does involve tariffs. Incidentally this economic fundamental was seemingly too high a concept for the Brexiter gammons to get their heads around. The West has fallen, it has been decapitated. The World is being divided along 4 lines - the US, China, Russia and Brics, and the EU. The first three of those are authoritarian, a mix of communism and outright fascism. The fight in Europe is now to preserve liberal democracy. I would like to invite Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to that party. Maybe being in the commonwealth will count for something after all. We need to wake up, expel as much US influence as possible from our economies. It will be hard. But we are a collection of rich, educated, enlightened countries. We can do this.3 points

He's in awe of Putin (and in his pocket). It's like the Molotov/Ribbentrop pact with Ukraine playing the role of Poland, we (Europe) can't let it happen. Trump's a Putin wannabe, the noise around Canada, Greenland and Panama is more than noise IMO, if he thinks he can getaway with it he'll try it. The US is no longer an ally and probably could be considered hostile.2 points
