  2. we have a bunch of players that are already club legends from this era. Burn, Bruno, Murphy and Joelinton will all go down as cult heroโ€™s. Probably more.

  3. It's hard to see how they come at the Premier League next season with the belief that they can qualify for the Champions League again. They've been so far off the pace, have shown no heart outside the of the Europa League and have extremely deep seeded problems throughout the club. They're regressing whilst clubs like us and Aston Villa are moving quickly in the other direction. Man United aren't the drawcard they once were for players so they've subsequently paid extremely high wages to bring players in. At the same time they've failed to get consistent performances from anyone whether they've been more experienced players or players bought on their potential (and paid according to their potential too). They don't have a style or identity in the pitch because their squad is Frankenstein's monster from various manager's tenures. They'll struggle to have anyone that can be sold - noone will pay the excessive wages to unproven players or players past their prime and despite the media's best efforts to promote their young players, the table doesn't lie. A line of managers have failed to fix the intrinsic problems and the owners, despite spending heavily, have managed to all but destroy the relationship with the supporters. Tottenham's problems aren't as deep seeded because they've always been very tight with their wage structure. That said they've run out of cash cows players they can sell to fund other purchases so no European income next season will hurt their rebuild immensely. Having seen them bottle many important games this season I can't see how they will beat Man Utd who have some spammy ability to win stuff.

  5. Liverpool Bastions of footballing integrity Liverpool Football Club (tm) absolutely chucking in their last 3 games of the season now they've got the league won and booing "one of their own" because he has the audacity to want to leave. As per, high as fuck on their own self-righteousness.

  7. in a dream world we beat arsenal at their place to go 2nd guaranteeing cl qualification barring a mathematical miracle. we'd be set up for what would be the climax to the most successful season in my lifetime, (well, all of our lifetimes!) in a sjp which will be rocking to its fucking foundations!

  10. Spurs need their "Big 6" membership revoking, and Man Utd won't be far behind them. Ours and Villas form isn't a flash in the pan, despite PSR doing its best to cripple both teams.

  11. Almost everything suggests that the following will transpire: 1 ) Howe will set up with a back three. 2 ) Isak will score pretty early. 3 ) Arteta will not have an answer. 4 ) Mad Dog will wind up the opposition coaches. 5 ) Half time. 6 ) Gordon will score early in the second. 7 ) Arteta won't even understand the question let alone have an answer for it. 8 ) Full time. 2-0 us.

  12. All the best, Gloomy. I'm assuming the docs gave you the all clear. "How many fingers? What position is our #1 priority to improve in the summer?" All the standard questions.

  13. there's a pub in cheltenham called the railway that's had lads and lasses on the bog doors for years. no newcastle connection in its ownership in the 35 years I lived down there and none prior as far as I was aware. seems the long arm of geordiewashing has stealthily been at work since at least the back end of the 80s.

  14. Liverpool let TAA, Van Dijk and Salah get down to the last three months of their contracts. Whatever way you look at it they dropped the ball big time.

  15. Heโ€™d get booed at most big clubs. Thats just a given. That is football supporters for you across the board. I completely support his wishes to change clubs too. The overall reaction to it from all sides is fuckin ridiculous though. I suppose thatโ€™s a given too..this is the tweet I was on about, for me it is 1000 x worse than the booing itselfโ€ฆ

  17. He was unbelievably diplomatic in the post match interview. Nuno, that is. Just said that football is a game of emotions and everyone in that crowd would have been feeling emotions, and basically that's fine. I would have said I've never seen the fat cunt move so quick and he should have stayed in both of his seats.

  18. I wonder how long this will go on for before talk of a vote of no confidence ramps up. Surely, there are labour members watching this cunt carrying on thoroughly outraged - how many times did they try to oust Corbyn? I recall more than one but can only distinctly remember the one he lost. At this point he's just Sunak in a different colour tie. Weak. Fully willing to hold my hands up and say I got it wrong - I thought the lack of policy and beliefs was purely because he had the election in the bag and didn't want to give his opponents ammo when he didn't need to. Turns out he just has no beliefs. I suppose the argument is that the torys weren't honest about the state of the finances and now labour are trying to fix it - but to do it by targeting farmers, pensioners and vulnerable kids instead of the wealthy corporations and individuals is deplorable. Now to stick his beak into culture war shite like trans rights and the demonising of immigrants - bin the cunt off and give it to Rayner - she has to be better.

  19. A lot of defending Liverpool fans by pundits this morning. "It was only a minority and boos are always louder than claps", I've heard multiple times. Well boos are louder than claps when no one bothers their arse to clap, but if it was only a minority it should have been very easy for a majority to completely drown them out. It didn't happen cos they're shitcunts who can't believe he's had the nerve to want to go to a bigger and better club.

  21. Mind you, if we beat them a fourth time this season I genuinely think it might break Arteta. We might watch a man completely come apart in real time.

  24. yeah. you can argue over whether there was intent but you can't argue that botman took an elbow to the face and that is an automatic red. it also looks like he sized it up before the contact was made, which didn't help his cause.

  25. This but also Arteta blames the ref/ball/weather/planetary alignment and then proclaims Arsenal to be the best team in the league, for all time.

  29. Plus at no point was he going for the ball, or even aware specifically where the ball was. Text book violent conduct. VIOLENT CONDUCT Violent conduct is when a player uses or attempts to use excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball, or against a team-mate, team official, match official, spectator or any other person, regardless of whether contact is made. In addition, a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm, is guilty of violent conduct unless the force used was negligible.

  30. It was absolutely horrific, I've seen the clip of John Helm commentating on it a few times and it never gets easier to view. It definitely was overshadowed by what happened at Heysel later that month and then Hillsborough 4 years later. What gets overlooked IMO is the death of Ian Hambridge at St Andrews on the same day. Was at his first match if I remember right.

  31. It's not like it even hurt Chelsea, they were better without him. In the end he's a bellend, playing for a bellend club, whose suspension will only sadden bellends. That's all that really matters.

  33. Depends who we have fit, they're going to be desperate to beat us and they did play well in parts against PSG. If we drop off like we have done in games they might get their win but I hope we've already got it done by the time Everton comes around and to paraphrase Delores, 'We're in his heeeeead, in his heeeaaad, Playmobil, Playmobil, Playmobil -il-il-il-il' so could well do the business again. I'll be on holiday when we play the cunts so arsenal fans will need an exclusion zone around me for everybody's sake next week.
