So, my great uncle (who I've talked about on here before) who was missing/KIA in 1915 will be laid to rest, with full military honours etc. In September on the 110th anniversary of the battle/his death. I will be there. Just been on the phone with BBC Scotland who are looking at covering the discovery, identification and ceremony as a documentary and they want to film with me and the artefacts (letters) we have. Yikes Toonpack on TV 😂10 points

I feel like Mbuemo was, but as soon as he publicly said he wanted man u and 250k a week we just went "fuck that" and moved on. Given our wage structure I am perfectly happy with that, as much as I rate him.8 points

Were we ever actually credibly reported as being after cunha? Mbuemo still plays for Brentford tbf, he's gone nowhere yet. Though it seems we've moved on. Delap had most of the league after him because that release clause was buttons and he went where he'd be first choice. I get where you're coming from KD but Im just not at panic stations yet. Our best business has never been public and I feel like a lot of our fans who are panicking just aren't quite used to us being linked with anyone moving yet since Ashley left.5 points

I had ball cancer the first time so half of Salford and Manchester have seen my cock and balls during inspections. I really didn’t enjoy a doctor bringing in two what looked to me teenage girls, who were apparently trainee doctors. If they have to learn I suppose it best be on the smallest cock in town so they can get used to it.5 points

I chinned a lad from Strasbourg once- fucker nicked my tent and all my possessions. Caught him the next day with my gear, had a disagreement and when I was picking him back up I may have inadvertently tore his ear half off. Not my proudest moment but he did squeal like a piggaaaay!4 points

Fucking hate Glastonbury nowadays like. So many reasons. And Rod Stewart man. Jesus. Reminds me of a time I went to this pub in Tenerife and the place was some weird shrine to him. I think Maggy May was canny and that's about it. The barman/owner started sweeping the floor pretending he was RS using the broom as a mike. Mind, that was 20 years ago, he may have had some life still in him then. Same with "I'm Dill Danding" Elton John.4 points

The initial signings took the club forward at a ridiculous rate. But they’ve also left us in the predicament we are in re: PSR. To just heap praise on Staveley doesn’t really look at the whole picture. Obviously PSR is designed to stymie us interlopers. And we’ve all got to give fanks to Mike for the lack of revenue streams which have also been a massive factor. I do think she was a good link between the footballing management side of things and the (real) ownership however. But I don’t think it was a particularly sustainable transfer policy. Unless you’d be happy to see some of our best players leave to go to the sides we’re trying to chase down4 points

Not saying that this is what you're saying here, but I see a lot on twitter saying we should just pay the extra £5m or £10m as if it's just an extra couple of quid. I know to our owners that sort of money isn't more than change but unfortunately we have to work within the ridiculous constraints of PSR and those are certainly large amounts within the world we working.4 points

I wouldn't worry, from afar Newcastle have clearly been going in the right direction. keep your squad together add a couple and you're golden. if i was a newcastle fan, given what i've witnessed at city, i'd want the owners to sort out all the behind the scenes stuff. a state of the art training centre and academy. make it so when players get there they never want to leave. get all that sorted while you wait to see what happens with the 115 and the apt cases then you'll know the lay of the land on the big spending. maybe build a womens team and a hotel. our training and academy have been the making of us. we make so much money from it.4 points

I wonder what Chelse are telling the players that they sign. 2 Seasons (games played, from 90+) Caceido €116m - 73 Lavia €62m - 17 Nkunku €60m - 38 Palmer €47m - 70 Disasi €45m - 37 (loaned out) Jackson £37m - 65 Ugochukwu €27M - 12 Sanchez (GK) €23m - 48 Petrovic (GK) €16m - 23 (loaned) Washington €16m - 2 (loaned out) Angelo €15m - 0 (loaned then sold) 1 Season (from 45+ games) Neto €60m - 35 Felix €52m - 12 Dewsbury-Hall €35m - 13 Jorgensen (GK) €24m - 6 Kellyman €22m - 0 Anselmino €16m - 0 (then loaned out) Amagou €15m - 1 Veiga €14m - 7 (then loaned) Wiley €10m - 0 (then loaned) Adarabioyo (Free) - 22 This window (so far): Pedro €60m Delap £35m Estevao €34m Essugo €22m Penders (GK) €20m Sarr €14m Paez €10m Would they even bother trying to pretend to players that they're important to their plans? Or do they just tell them how much they'll be making? Bolded the ones who have had some degree of success there, was feeling very generous with Jackson. That's over €80m spent on GKs alone in a couple of years and they likely don't know who their best keeper is. It gets worse if you go back another year as well. As a fan watching all of that go on it can't be a very rewarding process. I hope we never turn into this soulless conveyor belt of mercenaries.4 points

There's every chance that the agents of these targets have been using us as leverage to parlay up their clients' wages. Not to mention the selling clubs squeezing up the transfer price. We don't really know if the likes of Mbuemo and Pedro were serious targets, a lot of it has been amplified through social media with no direct corroboration from the club as far as Ive seen.4 points

As I was saying earlier Pedro seems like a Class A cunt, and not like Gordon who is a cunt to the opposition but a top class lad within the toon. Pedro will fit in well at Chelsea. Bullet dodged imho. Heard the mackems were interested in Pedro too until someone pointed out that's not how Adam Johnston is spelled... What's the craic with Oshimen these days he was been touted to everyone as the next big thing?4 points

Surely Chelsea are going to be overloaded with forwards , if Nicolas Jackson was available on the cheap I don't think that would be too bad a signing as a second striker to isak. He's raw but he's still young and could improve under howe and co. I very much doubt Chelsea would sell to a direct competitor in the pl3 points

I would say Murphy last season was just as important to us as Elanga was to Forest. Murphy had 20 goal contributions in the league last season and we had no one else who looked like putting in numbers anywhere close to that on the right. I agree with the different points in their career part and I think I'd be looking for £30m+ if we were to sell him. The size of prices we're being quoted for replacements tells me we'd have to value him at that sort of amount. We'd probably get about £15m for him from Saudi though.3 points

Yeah, another rich, middle aged, white, narcissistic psychopath. Great film though. Didn't get what he deserved as he wouldn't even know it had happened. Feel sorry for the kid robbed of his life who, iirc, didn't even want to do it. Also, fucking leave the Titanic alone now you morbid grave diggers.3 points

You're making it sound way worse than it is and way less complicated also. 1. We're not going to upset a harmonious squad that just won a trophy and qualified for the champion's league by bringing in players on huge wages. This rules out many options, but it's likely the right move. 2. The summer transfer window can be a slow burn (yes I know we already have one of those). Sure some business gets done early, mostly by clubs that have few financial restraints, but most happens towards the end as teams selling quality players need to confirm that they can replace them. There's always that domino effect as well as bigger moves occur that money goes back into the market and more players move. 3. We are an attractive prospect to both domestic and international players. We have champion's League, we have a manager who consistently gets the best out of players. We have a slew of internationals in our team both for England and other countries who have earned or maintained their positions whilst playing here. 4. On Trafford, he is a long term target. He wants to come here and he will come here. The clubs have to do the dance on what that final fee is. Every pound saved there is a pound that can be spent elsewhere. It's PSR that means we have to move like this, but even under those constraints look how far we have come in four years. Not getting him earlier hasn't hurt us at all as both Pope and Dubravka had some incredible spells/games through this season. 5. Ability is only one factor in signing a player, we also want to ensure they have the right attitude and are coming for the right reasons. 6. Hardly anyone is taking the piss. Chelsea very obviously are, but few others run the risk. Aston Villa took a bit of gamble and having missed out on CL next season are going to have to take action to at least give the appearance of satisfying PSR. 7. Who have we missed out on that we desperately wanted here?3 points
