  1. It will simply make the Stoke fans extremely happy, and nowadays it's so rare that domestic trophies make the fans of the team that wins them, really happy. It's just a fact.
  2. Do you like berry-picking? :icon_lol: :D
  3. Last week Man United won the league, in front of the eyes of Chelsea. This week we have the FA Cup Final. I don't know about any of you lot, but I get the impression that people and the media alike are much more interested in the FA Cup final.
  4. I'd rather Newcaslte win matches, than be part in any kind of so-called 'proper Toon fan' group, who use the right words (ie. the words that the leaders tell them they have to use). And I'm very glad that Newcastle are now showing themselves to be the model club that they are. It is wonderful, considering people were laughing at them only 2 years ago.
  5. Asteroidblitz, all I know is that it upsets me when we do badly (has done since 1985) and it pleases me when we do well (has done since 1985). I don't care whether people think I'm a proper Toon fan or not, I'd rather the whole world thought I was a Mackem and Newcastle finished 10th, than that the whole world thought I was a Toony and Newcastle finished 11th.
  6. You're 36 ? Yes, and I've been a staunch Toon fan since 1985. Marko, I agree. I think the Toon should go all out to go as far as possible in the 2 cups.
  7. Well, the Carling Cup gave us a bit of magic. All those happy Brummies
  8. I am 36, and remember the FA Cup Final in the 80s, how exciting it always was, and now it's rather drab usually. BUT... It's exactly the same with the League!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who gives a rat's harris whether it's Man U or Chelsea. I'll say one thing about the Cup Final; there's a chance Stoke might win it, in which case it WILL provide a bit of magic. As for the league, whoever buys it, it's as boring one year as the next.
  9. It doesn't bother me. Well done, Stoke City for getting to the FA Cup Final. Man City, better luck next year in trying to get the results big spenders like you should get. Hope for a good football match tomorrow
  10. FYP. Nick-Kielce-Poland, Do you like coconuts? :icon_lol: :icon_lol:
  11. This isn't a discussion about whether or not the remaining two matches are important. This is a thread for people who think they ARE important, to discuss how to get maximum points from them. I would love us to finish in the top-half. 8th, or even 9th, would be a dream for me. Even 11th would be very nice. That's my own opinion. I'd save Tiote against Chelsea, and field as good a side as possible against WBA. My aim is 3 points, but 4 would be very nice. I hope Nile Ranger doesn't play against WBA. He's useless. We all know that now, so the club should sack him (transferring him isn't an option, because he's not a footballer and it would be against the trades descriptions act. Obviously, I'm gutted that Nolan will be out, so I'm pinning my hopes on Lovenkrands and Ameobi against WBA. SO what are your views?
  12. Shame. I was hoping for 3 points in the last 2 matches. Still hope for the 3 points, but slightly dented now. Hope Pardew saves Tiote against Chelsea, and brings him in against WBA. I certainly care where we end in the league.
  13. It's confusing. You say 'the ones who have done better than you'd expect at the start of the season' then you cite your choices who 'have done better than their resources would indicate'? Well, which one is it??? I'm going to introduce a 3rd category, teams that have done well divided by what they have spent. In my category, Arsenal are the clear winners, with us, Birgmingham and Norwich vying for 2nd place. Man City pick up the wooden spoon, regardless of what happens in the FA CUp. Hobbling into 4th after all that they've spent is an utter disgrace. Especially with all the narrow wins they've had.
  14. Keep voting in this very important piece of social research.
  15. Which animal's dung did you last step in. (Some ridiculous dog owners are trying to shift the blame for the disgusting dung that adorns the street, onto cats or horses. Nonsense. It's dog dung all the way, which I'm sure this poll will prove).
  16. Well, they've just witnessed their club become the most successful club in the history of the English league. They must be very happy. Let's hear how happy they were? To everyone, Manc fans you met at work today, how happy were they? They've finally surpassed Liverpool in the marathon of English football history. Now how happy were they? I bet you could hardly tell they'd won a trophy at all.
  17. Asteroyd, You're welcome to think that proves how happye they are. I bet they're all going on about how it's their 19th win (gone past Liverpool). I wonder what they will talk about after next league win. They will be happy because they can by any player they want, they don't have to sell their best players and they should be competing for every trophy. They don't seem particularly happy, the ones I've heard. What's more, I've heard plenty of QPR fans saying they really hope they don't start spending ridiculous sums. The penny is beginning to drop.
  18. Tom, they should be happy now, shouldn't they? In the Champions League for the first time since 1969???
  19. Money doesn't buy happiness. A lot of you will be meeting Man U fans in work tomorrow. As you congratulate them, please notice the 'I'm-not-arsed-look' in their eyes as they politely thank you while managing to raise a smile.
  20. Tiote should be dropped for the match against Chelsea, then he should be played in our winnable match against West Brom. We have a chance to finish 9th, or even 8th, and we must pull out all the stops for such a position. That's my opinion. (I would consider it a great honour to finish 8th, or even 9th, especially given that we've spent less NET than any other Prem club). I want to be PROUD of my club. Doing a Man City wouldn't make me PROUD at all. Punching above our spending certainly would. All just my opinion.
  21. Premier League matches 2010-2011 Hughton 1.19 points per match (16 league matches) Pardew 1.25 points per match (20 league matches) Very close. Pardew needs 2 more points in the last 2 matches to seal victory in this little battle (for what it's worth, this stat)
  22. Well, the people chose it. So we who supported AV can either accept it with grace, or be pathetic bad losers. I'm choosing the former. Congratulations to the winners!
  23. ewerk maybe just being deputy PM, means he gets to have sex with lots of buxoms.
