  1. There's every chance that the agents of these targets have been using us as leverage to parlay up their clients' wages. Not to mention the selling clubs squeezing up the transfer price. We don't really know if the likes of Mbuemo and Pedro were serious targets, a lot of it has been amplified through social media with no direct corroboration from the club as far as Ive seen.

  2. Being too broke to buy players doesn't translate into having a system for developing players. And back in the world of facts, this so-called globally recognised talent lost 5 in a row (FTM) before scraping through the play offs by the skin of their teeth.

Let's see if they're still signing the praises of this imagined system when the same players are routinely getting drubbed week in week out by PL teams with real talent

We are frustrated that our £25m bid for £30m Trafford, and £50m bid for £60m Pedro have both failed apparently

What's the likelihood that Martin Hardy has the inside track on our transfer negotiations and how we feel about progress? We've been very good at keeping things confidential so I'm very sceptical about the truth of stuff like this

  4. I don't know why Forest would even consider strengthening a direct rival unless they can take us to the cleaners, or are desperate for the money. Under either scenario you'd think there would be better value options out there if they don't welcome our interest. I just hope we don't waste huge amounts of time chasing a club who doesn't really want to sell, like Guehi last season.

Is this the line that didn't make it into Roy's final speech in Bladerunner?

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears when some lass squirts in your eye. Time to die.

Does Pedro excite anyone here? We'd be paying a Premier League Premium price for someone who IMO has bafely proven himself to be worth what Brighton paid for him (£30m). He strikes me as a poorer Richarlison, a player capable of the brilliant but streaky and not assured. Elanga is also not a pure goal scorer buy he has express pace and versatility to play wide or centrally. Given we are still constrained on budget the versatility is more valuable. Pedro would only be getting substitute minutes in games where Isak is available. Elanga could earn himself a starting spot. We do need some depth up front but we'd be paying overs with Pedro who seemingly also has temperament issues. Pass.

The rationale for Pedro seems to be that he will play in a front 2 against sides who set up with a low block. Dunno if there's any truth to that obviously, there's no quotes from the club to say that we're still after him, let alone how he'd fit in. Apparently he still has 2 years on his contract, and Brighton always ask for silly money, so I doubt it will happen anyway.

Well yes but wasn't there talk about him wanting to make Guehi a statement signing?  Could well have seen Mbuemo as the same.  I'm not sure he fits Howe's profile in a number of ways.

He's too short for a start

    I'm convinced it'll be Salah & Slot.

I think POTS is likely to be clear cut.

Manager is up for debate though. Whilst I think it will be Slot, I don't think it should be - he's basically ran with Klopp's team at a canter. Even if Forest don't get Champions League, Nuno has performed miracles - that team was nailed on for relegation and they're likely to just miss out on CL - reminds me of us when we finished 5th under Pardew. And then there's Eddie ... he's the bloke who's finally delivered silverware to NUFC and there's a real chance could finish as runners up. That's far more of an achievement than what Slot has achieved IMO.

I agree with you, especially when you

look at the resources available to Slot vs Howe (squad investment, squad depth, facilities etc). However they always give it to the manager that wins the league dont they?

Sam Allerdyce is the best manager they have had in my lifetime…

What makes Fat Sam such a great manager? Leave your answers in a brown paper bag on the bench by the stairs at Platform 4

  11. No doubt the same people who were trying to hound out their manager for being the worst ever will claim he is now a world beater and better than Howe if they get promoted. Only to demand he gets tarred and feathered and run out of town when they start getting pummelled in every PL match. I can't wait.
