Bloody spuds, just had my first text of the barrage from one of the Spurs fans at work declaring his disbelief that we managed to beat his team after this evening's piss poor performance. To be expected I guess, can't really say much back to them though with them beating Cardiff like we should have Brum!
Just reply and say "Aye we beat you with the same 11. So you better fucking hope you don't draw Birmingham, cocknose!"

I think being a Newcastle supporter is like having a life-long, re-occuring, incurable disease that can lie dormant for periods of time lulling the sufferer into a feeling of false security and well-being that a cure has been found and the disease has been eradicated, only to find that the malaise is indeed incurable and will continue to plague you for the rest of your life.
At the St. James' Park hospice for the incurably sick the logo 'Howay the Lads' should be edited and read....
"Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter" cos there's no known cure for the Newcassel Plague.

For me it's not so much Roeder as the chairman not strengthening the squad. IIRC we were paper thin under Souness' reign, we've never strengthen and in fact just got thinner. We'll never regain a decent run of things until we get several more players in.
