Shepherd can be blamed for two things: He hired Souness Lack of players in But their are plenty of managers working with small squads, lack of players they want and no money and they do a fucking better job Souness, not Fat Fred got rid of key players, he picks the team, the tatcics, he dictates the way we play, the team's morale and spirit, the training and finess and coaching and he's shite at it all. Whatever fat fred's faults are (and i'd be happy to see him out too) the manager dictates what a team is like and we have acunt in charge. Moyes had less of a squad than Souness with worse players, but he managed, coached and organised them well and got the most out of them and didn't fall out with any of them. He didn't need his chairman to sign loads of players for him.

Excuses are a given naturally, but the most likely thing to hear is: The players gave everything, worked hard and we just need a bit of luck and those attacking players to open the door, etc. etc. When what we need is somebody who doesn't dismantle a squad, take out all the creativity and goals and has some semblance of understanding of tactics, formations and basically isn't a prick!

Sounds like we're creating chances at will as usual then! And thanks to Souness as soon as NUFC go 1-0 down we know we are not going to win at all and unlikely to snatch a draw. Totally agree. He wants his head checked if he chose us ahead of Liverpool in the current states we are, even if he wasn't an ex Liverpool player and wanting to go home.
