  1. Knocky 9 doors. The weird old bloke across the road from my friend's house caught us once and threatened to "slaughter" us, which resulted in that nervous uncontrollable laughter like when you're getting bollocked at school. I thought his head was going to explode. Obviously we continued doing it all the time.

I think it was "tag" round mine but I don't remember actually playing it much.

  2. I was at Sachins the other night and they do the spiciest korma I've ever come across. It's legit spicy.

I didn't order it btw, before anyone starts - chicken karahi was my order, but the Korma was more spicy than it.

Love Sachins, going there for my team's Christmas meal again this year as it was spot on last year.

  3. Aye Killingworth is a good spot for it. You can go out through Backworth to the coast or through Wideopen to Dinnington and out towards Belsay etc.

I walk the cycle paths a lot so it'll be nice to actually be on a bike as you look weird walking without a dog. Always fucks me off at Dinnington where the cycle path just goes onto the road, usually end up in the pub at that point if we're out for a walk.

  4. I wouldn't get into riding on the roads during commute times. You're asking for a brain injury if you do that imo.

Nah fuck that. I hate being on a bus and seeing a cyclist pedalling away right in front of it. Makes me feel proper nervous. Where I live in Killingworth is very well connected for cycle routes so that would be my starting point.

  5. I'd never bothered with the bikes at the gym until a few months ago but I love them now. Really feels like an excellent cardio workout and I feel like I've made good progress with resistance and speed since I started, I'm able to keep moving up the settings every so often. It helps that I can either read or watch something on Netflix on my phone while I exercise.

Looking at buying a bike in the new year to get out for longer rides. I've all but given up on running, yet have just bought Great North Run membership to guarantee a place for the next 3 years so I'll have to get back into it at some point. Hoping the biking will keep my fitness level up in the meantime while I talk myself back round to running.

  6. Margaret Attwood - 'The Blind Assassin'

She's a great writer but this isn't a good book for my commute because there's too much noise around me to sit and focus on it properly. When I'm just reading it at home though, it's lovely. Unfortunately that means it's going to take absolutely ages to get through as I'm used to doing most of my reading on the bus. Currently I've read about 16% and have just under 10 hours reading time left.
