Ian McShane signed on for a "small but important" role apparently.

Nothing here, a quick check on the hashtag shows nothing but spam links.

amusing ourselves to death.
Is he one of your lot @Park Life?
The lizard overlords distracting us in the Matrix with shiny technology while they form a one world government?
Cheerful bugger, either way.

Done Time by Anarchy Brew Co. A stout that has been "sentenced" to three months in a whiskey barrel, 7.2% and fucking lovely.

Uber
in General Chat
Was chatting with another driver yesterday who used to work on black cabs in Newcastle. He reckons the clientele with Uber is much improved, but more importantly it's completely done away with people robbing him and people running away from fares. They can get out and run and he just swipes end trip, charges them, then gives them a 1 star review so other drivers know to refuse them in future.
CT absolutely shitting his pants. If you've got a promo code, @@The Mighty Hog, pm me it and I'll apply it which will get you a tenner.
Done and done, Chief.

Uber
in General Chat
Used one for the first time last night after a gig ran late and I missed the last bus. In short the driver got lost adding extra time and distance to the journey then his sat nav sent him on a ridiculously long way to my place. I was immediately billed more than the highest end of the estimate by at good 6 quid. But the app gives you a chance to ask Uber staff to review the journey if you feel it was inefficient. It was after midnight when I got home and I dropped them a message and by 3.30am they'd reviewed the route, corrected the fare and refunded the difference.

Pele was shite, he was worse than Jason Lee.

Sepp Blatter even sounds like a malingering disease.
Sounds like a dose of the squits. With blood.

Pleasantly surprised to get 14/15

Broken his toe on international duty, apparently.

He has extensive past form when it comes to Newcastle fans.
Didn't someone on here post a story about Barclay, a prossie and a bag of fruit and veg?
I remember Peaspud and him getting into a back and forth over fan ownership in the very early days of NUST. He came across as a smug, condecending prick who seemed to think all anyone had to do was band together, say they were going to buy the club and that was that. His go to answer when anyone questioned his knowledge of the club is that was reporting on our matches back in the early eighties.

Patrick Barclay is a fuckin wanker, second only to Robbie Savage this lunchtime, they're both on the BBC at the moment displaying how little they know about Newcastle United and its supporters.
I'm assuming that it was along the lines of this: http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/patrick-barclay-message-to-newcastle-supporters--its-time-to-say-sorry-to-alan-pardew-9827653.html

Does anyone have any recommendations for any town centre places where you'd be able to sit, have a drink and a chat on a normally hectic Saturday night?

I don't care if we're shite but listening to Man United fans ring into 606 is guaranteed to lift my spirits. The phrase "but we're Man Utd" always sounds like it's delivered with a great big pet lip.

Thought it was a furry goblet.
It probably is.
Also if furry goblet isn't in Viz's profanisarus then it should be.

The egg cup made my skin crawl.

Played.
A fairly small target audience for that one like, worth taking a punt on though.

I've read the Dark Tower series a couple of times, I loved it as it links into loads of his other books (you get characters turning up from Salem's Lot, Hearts in Atlantis and Insomnia off the top of my head). The first book in the series is a bit rough going as it was one of the first things he wrote but it's short and mostly western themed so if you can push through than then you should be fine with the others. It never strays too far into traditional fantasy, but there are elements of parallel worlds and there's a bit of King Arthur's mythology meshed with the westerns themes.
