well aren't you all a miserable bunch? i came on here, posted an article, made some comments, and then king kev started talking shit. i responded to him, and then there are a dozen posts about how i come on here, how i don't understand football, how i am only a fan on fifa, and all sorts of nonsense. first of all, i've been supporting barca for almost 15 years, and seen out the highs and the lows with the club. so don't give me this crap that i'm a fifa fan. secondly, i said nothing arrogant or condescending in my posts. you lot had a very average squad, and because a barca fan says it doesn't make your squad any more or less bad. it was a terrible squad, hence you got relegated. yes, jonas did not do well, but the fact remains that nobody who starts for argentina, nobody who starts for brazil, nobody who starts for spain, nobody who starts for any of these top international teams is a crap player. newcastle united was not a good fit for jonas, and i believe a team like barca would be a much better fit for him and we'd see a very different player if he played for us. patrick kluivert didn't exactly set SJP alight, but he's one of the best strikers to have ever played the game, supported by the FACT that he's the leading goal scorer for Holland, a country that is famous for producing countless world-class strikers. that's all i'm saying. if you still believe he sucks, then that's your right. i just hope he signs for us because i know he will be a great back-up player at barca, and he would get a lot more love at the camp nou than he does at SJP.

It's not our player's fault that Guti can't fucking pass or cross you moron. its known as movement off the ball, if you actually played any football instead of wanking off in front of your computer all day to pictures of your players you'd understand that. at barca, he'll be surrounded by players who are actually making cuts, showing, creating space. He'll be playing short, one touch passes. In case you haven't noticed, he does just fine when he plays for Argentina, hmmmm I wonder why that is. i think he will do fine as a squad player. we need someone to replace hleb, and i'm sure jonas will be infinitely better at barca than hleb was. jonas has skill on the ball, and at barca, he'll always have players moving around him so it'll be easier for him to pick passes. also, he'll have much more time on the ball than he did in england, and i think that'll help as well. because right now, besides xavi and iniesta, barcelona don't have any other creative midfielders. i think jonas would add a lot of flexibility to our midfield because if we are playing a team that is parking the bus, these are the types of players you need to crack them open, and we are one creative player short for sure. now if we look at it from your perspective though, i would be devastated if i was a newcastle fan. he's the ONLY creative player you have. i'd be surprised if you let him go without a fight.

I know it's only goal.com, but I think this would be a great signing for us. We need to strengthen our midfield with some quality squad players, and Jonas would fit that perfectly. Add to the fact that he plays with Messi and Milito in the Argentine national team and is great on the ball would definitely give us some options. Is Martins fit? Surely you must play a 4-3-3 with Owen Viduka Martins up front and Jonas just behind them? If martin's isn't fit, then this becomes harder. I would say start with an attacking lineup and go for the early goal, and then you can try to go more defensive later on if necessary. But no point being defensive from the outset. You are at home in a must win game, hope Shearer doesn't make the mistake of trying to be defensive early.

So, your idea of success is replacing good strikers with average ones to compensate for a poor midfield? Nutcase. my idea of success is SELLING good strikers, using the money to buy GOOD midfielders that can dribble, keep possession, and pass, and use average strikers because when your midfield is creating 10 chances a game, chances are 1 or 2 of them will go in. not very hard to understand. or you could have world class strikers with nobody to supply them and just hope and pray they get 1 lucky chance and they put away, which is what you're doing.

I remember earlier in the year, I came here and said that you guys should sell both Owen and Martins. I said that your midfield is so bad that they will never create chances, so what's the point having strikers like that up front? I said sell them, get some money, buy some midfielders and play with some more average strikers. Everyone bashed me and called me a lunatic. Now today, Shearer has said the same thing, that there's no point having players like Owen and Martins up front if you can't create anything for them. I agree 100%. Football games are won and lost in midfield, and yours is nonexistent.

I'm going to try to address all the issues you guys have brought up in one post. 1.) I'll be sure to capitalize the first word of my sentences from now on. At least everyone could understand what I was trying to say unlike your vomit on the screen. 2.) Yes, Keegan is still regarded as a very good player based on what he did in the past. Obviously he's not a good player now, but that's not the point I was making with Kluivert. I was making the point that even though he's still the record goalscorer for Holland (a very hard feat considering the quality strikers that have come from there), even though he's the fifth highest scorer for Barcelona, I'm sure many of you classify him as a shit player. you don't say "he was shit at newcastle", no you say he was a shit player overall. that's the point i'm trying to make, and i think it's ridiculous. 3.) My being a Barcelona fan has nothing to do with this discussion. You can ask any Deportivo fan, a club much like yourself, and they'll tell you the same thing. He's been one of your most consistent performers all season - his starts prove that - but if that's how you treat your stars, man I'd hate to be a worthless player at your club. 8.) Regarding the argument that he gets paid a lot so he should be good, so what, the rest of your players were signed for peanuts? They get paid with lollipops after the game then? Give it a rest, this has nothing to do with it.
