Eh? How's that work? If your average attendance is at 92%, it means you don't fill your ground. Size of the ground doesn't matter does it as even if it was bigger, you wouldn't fill it (that's what the 92% tells me) Because there are times that we could have filled our ground twice over for big games, NLD normally sells out in hours. That of course would push our avverage attendance up, I am sure the same would apply to you. As I say, those figures are useless. And therein lies the problem... Totally agree. The problem is until we rubber stamp a decision to move or expand the Lane, the argument is pointless. It seems more than a few have been sucked in by the sky mantra. Looks like you didn't bother with sky til post 2000, since you didn't know our stadium capacity til after the extension. To be honest I had no idea the duration of what those stats was. Seeing as there is no date on them. I do remember the old Sid James' though. It was a lot more...symmetrical

% Means fuck all. I have explained this before. Newcastle United Fans >>>>>>> Tottenham Fans There is such a gulf between the two it's a retarded arguement. What are we chatting about here the 3rd biggest club in London? With the best support. Gooners? Shhhhhh. Chavski? Prawn Sandwich City.

At least get your own mud to sling Stevie, you know the jester hats and foam fingers is my little jibe. toot toot

Fair enough but even without working out a weighted average attendance % for you lot, the figure is useless due to the finite capacity of both grounds.

A. You have a bigger stadium, of course youre average attendance is better B. That makes us 92% full on average vs your 85% full. C. If you are going to pull stats, make sure they benefit your argument. A.We have a bigger stadium due to demand. (demand still there for 60k btw) B. % Means fuck all. So if a club with a 1k capacity sells out 100% are they better? C. It does benefit my arguement. D. Your fans are shit. My god are you stupid, our ground is 36K, even if we had all the demand in the world we couldnt beat you on that score. You are comparing apples with oranges mate. The only way you could use those stats is if we both had 200K stadiums that we would never reach capacity. God, dont fancy the schooling up there much.

Jeez how far are we turning back the clock now?

So Stevie where would you put your support in terms of English club football?
-
Where do you get your info from Stevie? Do you just make this stuff up? Our away trips are always over subscribed.

You NEVER hear about clubs like Everton, Tottenham, Villa spoken about like this, and never will. I've long said Leeds are and will be the sixth biggest club in England sooner or later because that's their natural position in my view. Potential business partner in club praise shocker. Mansion and Puma combined sponsorship deal for Spurs? 80m. Northern Rock sponsorship of Newcastle? Some subprime debt and a bottle of Broon.

"Best fans In The World." © Sky Sports and The Premier League - Football didn't exist before we did No-one's claimed we have the best fans in the world. It's a claim you've projected onto us and then denigrated us for. I responded to your attempted wummery to show that although not necessarily the best in the world (which would be a pathetic claim from any set of fans), we're certainly no worse than Spurs and after 5 hours considering a response you've decided to ignore the point I made completely and just repeat yourself. Case closed I think. Hansen said he'd played in Scotland, in World Cup's, at Anfield and there was crowd like the toon fans. His exact words were "If trophies were given out for support, they'd win the Premiership, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League and the boat race" and of course he was right. Alex we have found one, well and truelly brought into the myth. The Lane rocked for 90 mins in the 5-1 against the scum, we regularly take 6K on European jaunts. Do I think we are any better than any other set of fans? Apart from the obvious offenders (Fulham / Bolton) no. Are we any worse than the Geordies, hell no.

"Best fans In The World." © Sky Sports and The Premier League - Football didn't exist before we did So you're admitting it's a media fabrication and not something spawned on Tyneside? Nice one. Yet so many of you buy into it. (Well Stevie does anyway.) Some do. Morons at every club though. It does get to people that they know they wouldn't get the levels of support we'd get if they'd been through what we've been through. And that's through our history, not just now. People often point to low gates of ours and so on (and we've had them) but the mitigating factors are normally pretty strong - normally set against a backdrop of poor results on the field and low attendances in English Football across the board. Feel free to pull me up on that if you disagree. I totally agree, football was on its knees in the mid 80s (although IMO it was alot more fun going to football back then). I just get sick and tired of the legendary Toon fans that are no better or no worse than any other set. TBH, the most vocal travelling support we get are Man Utd. To be fair, most fans would be loud if they had a side like that. And some fans are definitely better than others too. Go on admit it, you rate yourself as a cut above, dont you?

"Best fans In The World." © Sky Sports and The Premier League - Football didn't exist before we did You forgot George Graham, Ossie Ardiles, and David Pleat who have all uttered the magic words. I'll have to take your word on that but hey at least we are going to have 30K vs Roma. Double your attendance at double the price. By my reckoning that makes us 4 times better than the "Toon Army"

Lets remind ourselves how we got here:

Id be surprised if you were even born back then.

Like tackling back? Winning headers? I think the scouse maybe in for a shock. He is rated over and above his ability. Trust me, I have had to watch him for 6 seasons. No, I wouldn't have counted those as his strengths particularly. That's by the by though. Unless I'm mistaken you seemed to be suggesting pre-season is significant (it isn't particularly). If you weren't suggesting that, what point were you making? Just that the loss of RK to be replaced by Modric or Bentley....may not be the disaster everybody has it down for.

How many has he notched so far? The season hasn't started yet. How many pre season games has he played in?
