  1. I really enjoy the transfer window, means a team has to prepare for a season (well, half) rather than buying and selling as and when they get an injury etc. I would much prefer it closed a week before the season starts, but from an entertainment side it is great.

I can see where the article is coming from, but if somebody is out of contract then they can sign whenever they please, and if someone is in contract then surely the windows are more than enough time to move on if you really need to

  2. Arctic Monkeys - AM

Whoever gave them all those RnB albums needs a raise. A million times better than the uninspiring Suck It And See

Just gave it a proper listen, really good album.

I never minded Suck it and See, i'm a fan of some of the slower tripier songs they had on this, some sounded great live too this year when i caught them at Glaostonbury.

I do agree that AM is an improvement, its a great album! the two albums play great back to back.

  3. never seen this thread before; just opened it up to see the non-italic, no SD logo'd East Stand and thought for a second they had taken all of it down along with the paint-over job on the roof......

that high lasted for about 1/2 a second before seeing the date.....

  4. Shut Up And Play The Hits is on Film 4 on Friday night. Not seen it before but can't wait for it. I had tickets for the last tour in Paris but my best mate was playing at Ministry of Sound so decided to go there instead. Incorrect decision in retrospect.

A decision that will destroy you from the inside one you've watched SUAPTH!

To have been at the NY gig, that would have been unbelievable, but I'm sure any dates on the tour would have been pretty amazing!

  5. Kinda had a feeling he'd be in the squad tbh with being in the area already and being a former player.

Hateful fucker but he was a good player like

    still funny

Great clip, its when you see highlights like that when you remember how fast paced and exciting the premier league used to be.

The man is a grade A Bellend, but put the effort in when he played and you can imagine the piss boiling inside him when Dong-Won pulled out of that header against Palace!

Barton and Shearer to make peace and break the guy in two please!

  6. We have a decent first 11. We've a poor/unproven second 11.

Agreed, as I'm sure most would. While our first team is defiantly stronger than this time last year, our second is weaker with the departures over the summer and no replacements.

Really looking forward to seeing our attacking intent over the coming games, hopefully they keep injury free and we can have a run of games for them to gel together.

  7. starting swimming over the last couple of weeks at my local pool (by that i mean I haven't swam regularly in ages, i CAN infact swim, my shorts would tell you that if you seen me at the pool, covered in all my badges n that).

Really enjoying it, going first thing in the morning and its a great way to wake up and feel fresh ready for the day. Going to sign up tomorrow for a membership to keep myself going back, otherwise once the darker mornings kick in i'll prefer the comfort of bed at 6.30am.

  8. What do people think of Ross Barclay? if he improves at his current rate then he could well be a future candidate for a regular start. I caught the long highlights of the first game of the season for everton against norwich, very powerful player considering his age and a great shot on him.

Thing is, there has been so many promising youngsters in recent years who have just drifted off the radar after a year or so, hopefully martinez progresses him well and he can be a mainstay in the England setup in a few years time.

  9. I watched Remy play quite a lot for QPR and he is a top premier league player. I said in another thread, I dont think we'd have got him if we'd have pushed for the option to buy.

Say Remy has a fit full season, we finish mid table and he sneaks into the France squad (big if), can you really see him wanting to return to Loftus Road to ply his trade?

I know all of the 'if' would make QPR even more reluctant to sell as they would want him back in their squad, but I'm sure we'd stand a good chance if going in for a permanent deal should the price be right. actually scrap that, when will the price ever be right for us!?

  10. JFK is apparently in France 'on business'.

Joe, the window shut yesterday you faaakin clown, you're 'job'is done. now return to Newcastle to collect you're P45 and be on your way.

I owe you a pint for this,

    Mike.

  11. Someone likened this week's episode to a rollercoaster slowly climbing up the hill and next week will see it hurtling downwards. Probably killing everyone on board.

watched the Talking Bad episode for this week, where they had RJ Mitte on (WW junior) and he said a similar thing about it been pretty much misery from here on in.
