I have no problem with us winning ugly, frankly I'll take any three pointer. What I do have an issue with is the sudden wankfest on twitter where people are talking top 4 finishes and stating "fantastic result". It was a sloppy win over Fulham against the run of play. Its anything but European form. We've done well over the first 3 games but none of the performances instill confidence that the seasons going to be a good one. You do realise that the majority of these will be the younger Newcastle fan who are quite within their right to get excited by games and dream the impossible.

Too early to judge anyone until we get someone who can put the ball in the net. Once the midfield have faith in who is ahead of them, they will gamble more on extra runs etc improving the overall creative. At the moment their is rightly still a lot more caution in their play.

So having watched the obligatory you tube clip I am now fully qualified to spout shite about this player. Anyway, nearly all the clips show him at left back so I assume that's where he's going to play for us. While you tube clips are quite dull for defenders, he does look quite comfortable on the ball in attack and seems to take his time outside the oppositions box picking out the right pass rather than simply trying to get rid of the ball as Simpson does. He almost has air about him that he knows he has time because they aint going to get the ball off him easily. Anyway, just a you tube clip but lets he hope we get him and he lives up to his billing.

Given the change in policy to trying to find good cheap foreign players and given the amount of deals that have failed so far, I think at this point I would rather get some decent 6 month / 12 month loans, than just buy any old fucker for 3 or 4 years. We have enough dead wood already.
