Unfortunately that’s a paywall but iirc in the backstop we pay nothing for nearly full access to the SM, end FOM, have full control of our waters, continue traffif free access and have full independence on trade deals..... Obviously there are downsides but the 27 don’t want us getting all of that for free. My main point is that the actual withdrawal agreement is really only the gateway to negotiating a deal and anyone who has agreed to implement Brexit should not really have a problem with. I appreciate that as a remainer, anything other than a 2nd vote is unacceptable to you personally.
-
Not really, it’s pretty clear the backstop position is not good for the EU as has been detailed many times.
-
But you’ve ignored the 3 bits that they were actually voting on, the “deal” is yet to be negotiated and is where the real fight should be for interested parties. The only people who really have any credibility voting against the withdrawal agreement are those who are honest enough to admit that they want to reverse Brexit. Everything else is just dishonest.
-
Maybe you are just finding it awkward having to debate with someone from centre right? If it really bothers you though, just use ignore. My reading on here has been much improved since I used it on Alex.
-
It’s simple, all they are voting on is the withdrawal agreement. Citizens rights What we owe Ireland That guarantees continued status quo until a satisfactory “trade deal” is agreed. The negogiations that come next are where the real action is and where the real focus should be.
-
Hitler, Corbyn would have been in for talks no problem
-
I think Ant might think what’s the point in him adding tools like an ignore button when tools like you won’t use it Run along And post in a thread that interests you and stop detailing this one. Leaves 2 tbf.

JRM has no power to do anything.
-
As I said last year, all Corbyn needed to do was back the deal. We would be in a 2 year transition, The DUP would have abandoned the Tories and Jezza would now be sitting in No 10 delivering whatever Brexit he fancied. The biggest open goal miss in history.
-
So what’s Salmond been upto?
-
Was all sorted and agreed between the U.K. and 27 other countries, including the Germans. Comrade Corbyn could have voted it through but instead whipped his party to vote against it and plunge the country into chaos
-
Fuck me you are such an argumentative fuckwit 1. You agree with me it was a mistake. 2. You agree with me it’s not the immigrants fault. Could you not have just liked my post This place is has turned into a echo chamber for a bunch of Corbynistas on their rag

The NHS gets by, housing isn’t. That’s we we sky high house prices, sky high private rents, houses partitioned off to squeeze several families in and record number of adults having to live with their parents. If you want to drastically ramp up immigration then you either make sure services can cope or you delay. Ofcourse a lot of EU countries had the good sense to delay, but not Blair.

“The analysis from the CBI, which had argued for MPs to support Theresa May’s Brexit plan”. Hope you’ve emailed your MP

Nice that you agree with what I said above. “But to think the arrival of some 3 million plus people hasn’t had an adverse effect on housing or services is just daft. That’s obviously not their fault”.
-
I did say the contribute to the economy but surely even you realise that quick arrival of 3 million odd people has a knock on effect on housing, be that social or private and a knock on effect on services. It it would be a different matter if any government actually planned for these implications but none of the did. As for your kids, there’s nothing in Mays deal that stops them casually working abroad. Many kids do this already all over the world. I assume you didn’t do this btw

No, you select your facts, I select mine and we battle to the death or boredom. As I’ve said, I’ve no real problem personally with freedom of movement as it hasn’t really implemented me adversely in anyway. Also, it was fine by most when Oz and the boys were hitting Germany. But to think the arrival of some 3 million plus people hasn’t had an adverse effect on housing or services is just daft. That’s obviously not their fault but it’s understandable some sectors of the population (not just the racists), feel adversely effected. Maybe I’m turning into @Rayvin regarding the economic system, but do we just let business keep growing and keep importing more and more people to feed the cogs and line the pockets of the rich? And yes I know they contribute to the economy but does that contribution cover the extra money needed for housing / services. What happens as AI increases rapidly and we suddenly go pop? In days gone by where we had high employment wages would go up. Now we just allow the next Poland etc to join and feed the machine. No I don’t know all the answers.

Like you’re ever going to agree with me or Jezza.
-
Well if the party’s fucked, then Corbyns in so really she is putting the country first
-
I don’t disagree. Most would have snapped your hand off for Norway a few years ago. But let’s be honest, if it’s Norway or Remain, remain wins hands down. Only way that happens though is Brexit Ref 2
-
Feel free to review our previous discussions or google Corbyns comments regarding cheap labour.
-
I guess because 1. There’s no majority in Parliament for any other deal. 2. If the clock runs down she may hope that the EU buckle, amend the backstop thereby getting the ERG, DUP and waverers on side. 3. While all this is going on, Parliament (Labour and remainers), take no deal off the table, extend article 50 and therefore they are the Brexit Snatchers and not the Tories.
-
I think she’s quite happy to let the back benchers take control this week so that they can take the blame for stopping no deal and delaying article 50.
-
Early morning drinking again? He asked why May was choosing this option. As Ive said continuously since 2016, FOM doesn’t bother me at all and I’d be quite happy for it to continue. However there is an issue with cheap labour being brought in and even Corbyn is very concerned and wants to address it. Lets face it, you’re just a typical middle class snob solely worried about your own lifestyle.
-
Because this one includes No FOM Allows free trade deals The Norway one doesn’t.
