Heidi Allen resigning from Labour this afternoon.
-
Its nothing to do with the EU whether we check tomato’s coming into the U.K. from Spain.
-
Why? If the FTA agrees that we accept each other’s standards on certain goods then no. If we are getting Tomato’s from Spain that meet EU standards then why on earth would we need to inspect them. They will be no more dangerous than now.
-
First fucking sentence of the article Food staples including lettuce, tomatoes and beef could be in short supply or even disappear from supermarket shelves after Brexit
-
We’ve done it to death and I’ve got gardening to do. But if you honestly believe there will be no tomato’s after Brexit
-
New Labours long gone. New faces, better presentation, dropping back a few dafter policies and your fairly left wing government would romp home.
-
Typical Guardian project fear nonsense. No tomato’s after Brexit FFS switch to The Mail or The Sun or Beano
-
I don’t think anyone is forecasting economic armegeddon Putting aside project fears version of a recession etc just for voting to leave, most models say over a number of years we won’t grow as fast. “Grow as fast”. That doesn’t mean we won’t grow or there will be a recession. It may may just be the odd 1 or 2 percent growth, wages will continue to rise and austerity decline. Joe public will see that compared to the armegeddon remainers have screeched about, life is pretty much as you were, but out of Europe and the promise of jam tomorrow.

Apparently so according to Curtis. Just highlights the position May is in. Any failure to deliver a meaningful Brexit will lead to a good kicking in 2022. If Labour now don’t change the front team they are mad. If they had a decent leader and chancellor and filled the front bench with the best, rather than the cronies, they would romp home, even with their current agenda.
-
Very clear from John Curtis’s analysis is that the majority of leave areas are voting conservative which means they do have to deliver Brexit.
-
Well well well, Conservatives take my area from Labour.
-
They’re been sold a pup and are too naive to understand. The parasites are the snake oil salesmen selling it.
-
Not a chance he’ll be around then. He has nothing else to offer and the polls are against him.

Den of Thieves A sort of modern day version of Heat. Not as good but very watchable. Prom scene is very funny. -
I would guess the majority of this board would be quite happy with a centre left labour government. It’s how that is ever possible again I’m questioning.
-
Now that momentum has control of everything I just can’t see any way back. The lunatic youth bloc vote are always going to vote for the leftist candidate who by their very nature will always be unelectable.
-
You could assemble a very very strong front bench from the Labour side. Yvette cooper would wipe the floor week in week out with May. I also have a lot of time for the shadow health chap. Im not sure how they will ever reconcile the current split though.
-
I believe in most of that too (except banning people from the Middle East), my only real difference is how it’s paid for. I think the vast majority of the U.K. feel the same about politics. The government of the day should do as much stuff as it can for its people but avoid old fashioned boom and bust. Putting aside the war, Labour under Blair did a lot of good, but should have tackled more of the underlying big problems in society. (housing / pensions).
-
I can assure you this is all very mild so far Basically you’ll sink or swim, most sink. They’re all a nice bunch really.

I pretty much agree. Corbyn was miles behind in the polls untill the free stuff for everyone manifesto dropped. It was a pure old election bribe of the worst kind yet still couldn’t get them in. In 2022, Brexit will be put to bed, austerity over and Maybot won’t be running.
-
Doesnt matter if wealth inequality is low if every bugger is poorer. Corbyn, but more importantly the cult behind him pulling the strings at the top of momentum are extremely hard left.
