Ive sacked my pps!
-
Not according to my sources.
-
I thought he'd U turned?
-
Not to my knowledge?
-
Btw, Corbyns mad if he doesn't turn up for the debate tonight. Prime time opportunity to call May out for bottling it.
-
Not going to happen. im still wary all this free stuff is doable and concerned about the likes of Abbott etc but am prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt and take a punt. Even Corbyn is getting his act together and average working man in the street like me are far more bothered about his good intentions rather than if he forgets some figures in an interview or whether he is prepared to use Trident. I just hope the philosophy is doable and we don't end up with more austerity in 5 years time. As I've said before, we have a real choice in politics now and if this had happened earlier then I think Brexit wouldn't have happened. Its all about hope.
-
I told you that a fortnight ago
-
Its too late for the Tories, the tide has changed and support is draining away. Mind, if this socialist thing goes wrong, I'm holding YOU responsible!
-
Stop fretting, it's in the bag.
-
You're welcome
-
100% agree with this view on the media.
-
I don't disagree that we are pretty short on the ground of good MP's at the moment. TBF, the green shoots I've seen coming through tend to be more on the Labour side.
-
But I don't think that was ever in doubt. He's good at talking (in general non specific terms), she's not. Hes promising free everything, she's trying to sort out a very serious social care crisis. The performance of either in this sort of staged event is trivial for me as it reveals little about that persons ability to run a country. I still love the idea of the manifesto and really hope it will work and life is wonderful, but I still have niggles that it's possible and really can't bring myself to see Corbyn, McDonnell and Abbott as a dream team. im reminded of all the "free stuff" that Greek party promised and how that turned out. as it stands I'm still voting Labour but ......,
-
See that's another of my worries. I don't want left or right to be doomed and I don't want to be one of these countries that has endless hung parliaments where manifestos are torn up and rehashed in smoke filled rooms.

I think there was nothing to see here in last nights debate. Corbyn is a good talker, but howay, that's basically all he's done since leaving his pampered private education. Talk / protest / talk / protest. Paxman was hopeless and neither politician got a real severe drill down drilling on the big issues. May, has been in government for 7 years and therefore has a record to be judged on. She is also not a seasoned campaigner like Corbyn so is less comfortable in that situation. Corbyn is offering free everything for everyone. Who wouldn't like that. More important to me was coming back from the Lakes yesterday and watching the likes of Dianne Abbott on Marr. This woman could actually be Home Secretary in just over a week I really do like the free stuff, but I'm struggling with my conscience voting for Abbott, Corbyn and McDonnell. I do have serious issues with not only their back story, but their actual intelligence and ability to run the country.

Well most of my voting life there's been not a great deal of difference between Labour and conservative. Lots of rhetoric on both sides but overall pretty similar. Centre left / right, both really fighting over the centre ground. Maybe my business background swayed me to the "torys know how to run things" view, particularly on the economy. This time, not only is there a massive choice, but Labours plans haven't been AS slated as I thought they would be and when I consider there borrowing plans, I also consider how much the Tories have borrowed. I'm thinking if the Torie's can borrow so much (which I'm unsure what it's spent on, Labour borrowing to improve a lot of stuff doesn't seem so daft. im also very pissed off with staff being employed by agencies and treated like shit. I trust Labour to address that more than tories. still concerned about the likes of Abbott, Mcdonell etc and Brexit, but on the balance of things I think Labour deserve a shot. I also think that if they don't get in now, It will then be back to centre politics. Boils down I suppose to an outlook of hope compared to dourness.

Yes, still have a few concerns but yes.
-
Ive decided. I'm voting Labour.
-
Dont worry, voters don't like experts
-
What's more of a concern for Labour is that the IFS have come out this morning and said Labours plans to grow the state --- "will not work". I still think people like lots of free stuff and there is a Brexit thing going on. Wether it can last?
-
I don't think this will do him any harm and as with all things in the campaign his speech will only lead the news cycle for a day or two. i think a lot of people share similar feelings even though it's not that straight forward.
-
I said better than I expected.
-
A lot better than I was expecting given today's "clarification". After a few days on the ropes she was there for the taking and I thought Neil was far too hands off early on. (Not his usual style on daily politics). She basically (while squirming around awkward issues), managed to get the sounbites across she wanted, many times. Come the end of the week when the other four have be crucified by him, her performance will be long forgotten. That said, these sort of interviews are definitely outside her comfort zone.
-
Not at all, you're reading too much into a "wobbly weekend". She has the backing of her party and fantastic personal approval ratings. Two things Corbyn would kill for.
