At the start of the season we didn't have depth and quality in that position at all with two out with long term injury. We didn't have a clue what condition Botman would come back in either. We know Howe likes to bed his players in before starting them so Kelly wasn't really classed as depth was he? He played ONE 90 minute game for us yet you think Murphy, a fucking bairn can be included in that conversation about DEPTH and QUALITY? We are all in agreement we need both area's upgrading, but the more crucial position if we were only going to strengthen one area in summer IMO was CB. But not only in my opinion but also *CHECK NOTES* THE GAFFER & CLUB when they went after Guhei a ENGLAND INTERNATIONAL CB and not *CHECKS NOTES AGAIN* A FUCKING RW.

I'm not going into this argument again, but if Murphy was all that Howe wouldn't have let him go on loan.
