  1. I have a $1. bet with a fellow expat who supports Wolverhampton. He wouldn't wager more even though he thinks it's a sure win for him.

In a way I'm glad he wouldn't bet more as with our track-record I would be mortified to lose the game and some hard-earned dollars.:o

In reference to my $1., I am going to the church, the temple, and the mosque to pray for help.:)

  2. Too bad we couldn't have stolen a point, but the result was inevitable, we allowed them too much possession enhanced by our giveaways.

I'm surprised the score wasn't higher with the number of corners we gave away, and our poor defense on set pieces.

There were some opportunities for us to score but we just don't have the cutting edge needed. Joelinton is not getting anyone on their feet.

    Disappointing.

Just watched the highlights of the England game, fucking hell that back line was woeful. Instead of kicking on since the World Cup they've went backwards.

    Pickford - SHITE

    Maguire - SHITE

    Keane - SHITE

    Rose - SHITE

    Trippier - OK

I watched the game, there were others just as shitefull in the middle, and bordering shite up front due to lack of service.

Not really what I said mind. My point was a win against Manchester United papers over the cracks like the Brighton, Norwich and Leicester losses, and will likely lead to Bruce keeping his job longer. I don’t expect us to carry on winning games, nor does a win at home against a Manchester United side who were missing big players like Pogba indicate that we will, but again it papers over the cracks and will buy him more time. It was also a post made at a time in the match where it was looking like we could get something out of it, so I was talking about a potential positive of a win even though it was going against getting relegated. As it happens I was pleased to see Longstaff score and always enjoy watching us beat Manchester United.

We’re currently on relegation form (or hovering slightly above it), and my personal preference is we go down as it’ll cut Ashley off from the PL money. Imo the longer we keep Bruce the more likely we go down.

If you’d like us to stay up and continue this cycle of Ashley milking the club that’s fine, I know plenty that are simply happy to see PL football, but personally I see relegation and staying down there as a way to get Ashley to sell up.

I want us to stay in the Premier League simply because all Premier League games are shown on NBCSN or NBCSports Gold here in California and I get to see all Newcastle matches on my big screen TV.

Some Championship games are shown on ESPN+, not all,  and it won't be Newcastle every time, so I want us to stay up regardless of Ashley's antics.

  5. Was pissed off Steve didn't listen to me.

But I suppose I must give him credit for his startling line-up.

Little nail-biting in the last 4 minutes, thought we might hoy the win doon the netty.

Really surprised to see Clark start as he hasn't featured for quite a while.

Brilliant pass from Willems, magnificent strike by the other brother.

The Maxim was certainly firing, we may have a winner there.

Joelinton is looking like an expensive bad buy.

  6. I've had a few words with Steve and told him what my starting line up would be based on "who dares, wins"

                                           Dubravka

Schar    Fernandez     Dutton                   (Lascelles not up to par recently, on the bench with Willems)

Almiron       Longstaff        Ki         Atsu           (Shelvey not up to par period. Miggy and Atsu can use their pace and get crosses in to the strike force)

Joelinton   Carroll   St Maxim                   ( Carroll's worth a try for as long as he can last, and let's see what Maxims fire power is)

I'm ready for the usual dis-respect and slagging from them as know much more about football than I do.

Of course it can be placed on Bruce. He is just as much to blame as the players. He is responsible for setting the team up and giving them detailed instructions as to how to play. He hasn’t got a clue. He never has and has a record of failure throughout his management career. I’m not too sure why anyone was expecting anything different here when there is a large, consistent body of evidence showing what a poor manager is.

We’re a different team compared to the well drilled outfit we were under Benitez. A good manager manages to gets more than the sum of its parts out of a team.

The fact that you are not apportioning any blame to Bruce makes an absolute mockery of the abuse you used to give Benitez.

I stand corrected, forgive me for not apportioning any blame to Bruce. It's his fault Dubravka was not up to snuff. It was his fault Dummett was not up to snuff. It was his fault 5 goals were leaked by the back four who weren't up to snuff. It was his fault Joelinton, Muto, Almiron, Carroll, Atsu weren't up to snuff and didn't score. Yes it was all Bruce's fault for the pathetic performances put on display by his choice  of players. They were not to blame, it was all his fault for the dismal display.

And yes, I did abuse Benitez constantly from day one.

And yes Dougle, I am a wizened old ploat beyond senility.

And of course Alex, I am in a self parody mode, your suspicions are in order so be very careful not to give me too much credit.

    Happy now?

  8. The sad part about our dilemma is that watching the other lowly teams determines that they all play better football than we do even though they are poor teams.

Even sadder is the fact that based on the individual skills of each player we should have a decent team. At least 12 of our players have played for their country which means they could/should be decent but they are not showing it as a team. The Leicester disaster match performance was worse than terrible and it's not something that can be placed on Ashley or Bruce.  At best, only 2 or 3 players had halfway decent games, the rest were rubbish. Hayden's sending off was a bitter blow but it was no reason for the rest to throw in the towel the way they did.  10 men teams have won games before by doubling their efforts but our 10 could not have punched their way out of a wet paper-bag .

.........................................., we were the far more threatening team in the last eight minutes. Give Bruce a chance.

Aye, but the other 88 minutes were deplorable.  The change in tempo was when  Maxie and Andy  came on but  they  came on too late. Are you related to Bruce? :)

  10. Overjoyed with the point we didn't deserve.

Except for the last few minutes, it was a deplorable performance.

No more chances for Bruce, he should have made changes long before he did.

Unbelievable the amount of possession Brighton was given.

From the kick-off it looked like a no-win game, at least for us.

I don't think he's necessarily racist, just thick as fuck.

I agree with that. Sometimes a person will make a remark that in no way they think it is racist, but there is always someone who will construe it as being racist.

Two children playing together  mischievously , one white, one black.

Call the mischievous white child "a little monkey" and there is nothing wrong.

Call the mischievous black child "a little monkey"  RACIST??

But how about if you said "you little monkeys"  parceling them together??
