  1. I've a strange feeling about Pardew. There was something not quite right about him in the post match and his usual media flair was missing when the Mail bloke got hold of him.
  2. That's plausible. Personally think it's a combination of the cluster bomb press the last couple of days and season ticket renewal panic.
  3. Thrown to the wolves by Caesar. Nothing to see here.
  4. The no permanent signings thing had me thinking. iirc the TV money comes at the end of the year ie nowish...
  5. By Mike Calvin Last updated: 03 February 2014, 10:45 GMT Print this story When there is no ambition, there is no hope. When there is no hope, there is no point. When there is no point, there is only anger, disillusion and, most damagingly, disinterest. At least they still care about Newcastle United, who can lay claim to the unwanted title of the most pointless club in the Premier League. Before the avenging angels soar southwards, from the North East, I’d better make one thing clear. There is nothing futile about the frustration Newcastle fans felt in that all-too predictable derby defeat by Sunderland. Their passion is traditional, understandable and admirable. Yet it, too, is pointless because it is never going to be reciprocated by the men who are shaping club strategy. “No player of the highest quality, who harbours the sort of ambitions which define the biggest clubs, will consider joining." Owner Mike Ashley has become unfeasibly rich by selling plastic training shoes and a range of low-quality sports equipment. He will become even richer if he finds a buyer for the great football club he has sold down the River Tyne. If Joe Kinnear, his so-called Director of Football, had a shred of self-awareness or self-worth he would not be sustaining the charade of his credibility. Both men were, of course, nowhere to be seen when the consequences of cashing in were crystallised by the meekness of Saturday’s submission to the Mackems. In their world, they’d done their job. They had made a 500% profit on Yohan Cabaye, Newcastle’s best and most complete player. Trebles all round, geezer. Ashley and his pathetic band of apologists, whose response to anyone who questions their wisdom is to ban them from the premises, are smug, complacent and cheap. Sacrificing collective pride and traducing tradition? Small earthquake on the Gallowgate, not many hurt. The locals will get over it, in time. But will they? As an outsider who believes in Sir Bobby Robson’s ethos of a football club as a fanfare for the common man, I hope so. But the cumulative damage inflicted by a policy in which the only aim is profitable mediocrity will be severe. There will be a reckoning. The season stretches ahead, like a grey void. Relegation is an unrealistic possibility, and the booby prize of Europa League qualification is not worth fighting for. No player of the highest quality, who harbours the sort of ambitions which define the biggest clubs, will consider joining. It would not be the greatest surprise if Alan Pardew finds alternative employment. No pride, no drive, no faith.
  6. Ivanovic bullet puts Russia one up.
  7. Redknapp also revealed that Carroll had been offered to him more than once by us. And he magically knew Ba's contract inside out.
  8. I have no reason to doubt you mate. What was discussed elsewhere was with regard to controlling the wage bill and therein another performance related bonus. Also some kind of profit based incentive on player turnover (this falls into line with wages as well). Scouts at some clubs are on a bonus with regard to players scouted and profits therein on resale..So that isn't so novel really. Although it might be argued that it might be a conflict of interest with regard to the teams health on the pitch. MA made it very clear to all those concerned that the club was to reduce all expenses and become as lean as possible, I find it hard to believe the manager would be left out of such a core decision and not be incentivised to put in place good practice for such outcomes (that's the best lawyer speak I can do). We have all noted his constant and endless 'hawking' of players in interviews...If there is some merit to the above then this would explain his constant and tedious announcements on how it is going to he hard to hold onto certain players if the right offer comes in... Food for thought anyway. Pards is in over his head with Ashley who is a pretty smart operator and it might just dawning on him now.
  9. You'll note I'm choosing my words carefully. It's not my invention, but as I said it has been discussed elsewhere by others. Some of whom who had foreknowledge of his hiring as manager.
  10. It's was discussed with regard to his peculiar renumeration and low basic wage. You work it out.
  11. More in the Mirror http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/newcastle-united-alan-pardew-must-3108255#.Uu_PU_l_vA1
  12. I am now officially at war with Pardew. Watch this space.
  13. Honestly the shit he was coming out with about Cabaye before the window...OOoooOO he's quality...Hard to keep...CL side, sovereign states, science...The whole time he knew Cabaye was gone in Jan as the player himself has revealed. WE DIDN'T REPLACE cause Pards least of all gives two fucks about it.
  14. The whole of legaldom is right this minute flocking to this thread.
  15. Sorry mate but you best move sharpish to Disneyland. Pardew is totally in on the jig. Pretty sure and it's been discussed elsewhere that he gets a cut of transfer profits.
  16. It's why CH was ditched. Too honest and too close to the players.
  17. Think Pards is in on the scam. Can be forgiven for being an average manager with the odd good period (the PL is full of them)...But it's pretty clear he in on the scam up to his neck. He is one leg of the table. If he goes its going to be harder for them to continue with the flim flam.
