The various permutations of coffee and tea.

I like my coffee like I don't like my men: big, black, strong and sugar-free.

As for tea, stick one "normal" teabag and one Earl Grey in a mug and brew for five minutes minimum before adding a splash of milk but no sugar. What's the deal with office tarts in this country who think that sugary, milky water with 30 seconds' worth of tea infusion in any way constitutes an acceptable drink?

I've upgraded tp the two teabags recently. One normal black tea and one "wellness" (silly German usage).

As someone who lives in northern Germany, you shouldn't use teabags. Vile stuff. Pure leaves and a sieve tbh.

I have other more 'fussy' teas up my sieve you know.

Weed makes you tired, caffeine wakes you up :(

Well technically caffeine in normal amounts doesn't actually do a great deal physiologically to wake you up (it's mostly placebo), but it does tend to leave you feeling a lot worse afterwards.

Plus too much caffeine and/or withdrawal symptoms can give you a stinking headache (which I suppose wakes you up in a round about way :D ).

It'd probably have been banned by this Government long ago if it wasn't so nicely taxable.

Textbook. :icon_lol:

It most likely is, yet you still fall for the placebo clearly. :D

Even if what you're saying is true, I don't give a shit, I'm awake. I have more important things to worry about than how or why this is so. Clearly you don't.

Well in fairness I don't actually know the effect on Hamster physiology so it is possible you could be feeling a genuine effect. :yes

You probably could have done a quick MSc on this very subject along side your MBBS in your 3rd or 4th year. :D

Did a doctor shag your mam as well as a copper? Or was it both at once?

I almost opted to take a year off between 3rd and 4th years to do a BSc but decided I could do without the extra year of debt and not earning. And it's MBChB, Mr know-it-all. :yes

So too thick to do a quick MSc at the same time then? Or have standards just slipped that far? :D

I very rarely drink coffee or coke but when I do I can never get to sleep at night. Just 1 cup/glass will do it.

It does depend to a degree on the person and the amount you usually consume, but it has little to no "wake up" effect in normal amounts, although those doses will still give the downturn side effect (which is a bit of a bitch considering you're getting the low without actually getting the high) and may well make getting to sleep harder (although with coke, both in full fat and diet form, there's plenty of other stuff in there that can potentially mess up sleep cycles too).

I know, you were wrong, but the spelling and grammar were right so all is well with the world.(

I normally have about 3 coffee's and one or two teas a day. Sleep unaffected. Dreams raucous.

Out of interest if you go a 1 or 2 days without any caffeine do you develop headaches or sleep problems?

Well you're a little bit below par academic ability-wise it seems. And I'm..... well right. :icon_lol:

I'm the future of the NHS, regardless of what you think spackerjack. You're just some mentalist loser spouting consipiracy theories about coffee on the internet.

Oh I know you are, which is partly why the NHS will have ceased to exist as anything like it was created to be within 25 years. :yes

Still doesn't stop you being a bit dim and below standard though.

If I go 1 or 2 hours without coffee I don't feel myself this is true. Caffeine as a bad thing is overrated, this hiatus about coffee started in America probably (the land of cocaine). :icon_lol:

That can actually be part of the issue, that is you're not actually more awake/focused/whatever, but rather if you don't have your caffeine you have withdrawal systems, you do and they go away and you feel "better" (although not actually "better" than you would be if you got your system free of caffeine dependence).

Not that there aren't 10,000 things worse to worry about than caffeine in everyday life, it's just there's some interesting misconceptions about the stuff and its potential effects.
