I remember hanging around for a little bit and remember thinking it must have been a bit embarrassing for the players how few were left in the ground, but don't recall any booing.

 

Is it just the one bloke amongst us who remembers the booing so far?

 

In summary .com reported booing during the game, specifically of lazy arse Robert.

 

It's now taken as gospel this was booing of finishing 5th...despite the game leaving us 6th, with 2 to play, and the possibility of finishing anywhere from 4th to 8th.

I was at that game and it's fucking bollocks. The stadium wasn't a quarter full at full-time but there were inevitably a few boos due to the shite performance. The revisionists have subsequently made out that that got Robson the sack when it was in fact the pathetic actions of the last board that did exactly that.

 

it isn't my article Alex. I remember getting home and seeing a lot of comments about it on NO and maybe here too, it was quite loud, I was pretty disgusted tbh. I always stay behind after the end at the last game.
